Wiener AC
Wiener Athletiksport Club, also known as Wiener AC or WAC, is an Austrian sports club in Vienna. It is particularly noted for its hockey team, which was established in 1900. Its football team won the Austrian Championships and was Runner-up in the Mitropa Cup. History The football section of the club was founded on 14 October 1897. By 1904, it had won the Challenge Cup and the Wiener Tagblatt Pokal three times each. They were the most important trophies in Austrian football at the time. In September 1910, most of the first team left the club to found a new club, Wiener AF. Despite this, Wiener AC finished fourth in the Austrian football championship 1910–11, although the new club finished higher. The club won the Austrian football championship 1914–15, in which the ten clubs only played each other once each. Wiener AF finished in second place. SK Rapid Wien
Sportklub Rapid Wien (), commonly known as Rapid Vienna, is an Austrian football club playing in the country's capital city of Vienna. Rapid has won the most Austrian championship titles (32), including the first title in the season 1911–12, as well as a German championship in 1941 during Nazi rule. Rapid twice reached the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1985 and 1996, losing on both occasions. Rodolphe Hiden
Rudolf "Rudi" Hiden (9 March 1909 – 11 September 1973) was an Austrian- French footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Grazer AK, Wiener AC and RC Paris. He was capped internationally by the Austria and France national teams. In later life, Hiden managed several clubs in Italy, including Palermo. Playing career Born in Austria and nicknamed ''Rudi'', he was a successful Austrian international and in 1930 Herbert Chapman's Arsenal tried to sign him, but the Players Union and the Football League in England prevented him from doing so. Otto Herschmann
Dr. Otto Herschmann (4 January 1877 – 17 June 1942) was an Austrian Jewish swimmer, fencer, lawyer, and sports official. He is one of only a few athletes who have won Olympic medals in multiple sports, having received a silver medal in swimming in 1896 and a silver medal in fencing in 1912. He also worked as a lawyer, and served as president of the Austrian Olympic Committee and the Austrian Swimming Federation. Herschmann was murdered by the Nazis in 1942 during The Holocaust. Johann "Hans" Pirkner (born 25 March 1946, in Vienna) is a former Austrian football forward. Club career Pirkner played for several clubs, including Schalke 04 (1969–1971), Austria Wien (1974–1978) and First Vienna FC. When at Schalke, he was fined for two years due to his involvement in the 1971 '' Bundesliga scandal''. The ban was however lifted by the ÖFB after a year. He ended his professional career after the 1978 World Cup Finals. The Austrian Football Bundesliga (german: Österreichische Fußball-Bundesliga, italic=no , "Austrian Football Federal League"), also known as Admiral Bundesliga for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of the Austrian football league system.
