Wicked Game (Chris Isaak Album)
''Wicked Game'' is a compilation album by American singer and songwriter Chris Isaak, released in 1991 by WEA on the Reprise Records label in the UK, Europe and Australia. The record contains 11 songs from his first three albums. In early 1991, after the song "Wicked Game" went top 10 in the UK and top 15 in Australia, a division of Warner Music Group, WEA released the album ''Wicked Game''. Compiled by Phil Knox-Roberts of WEA UK, it was highlights of Isaak's recording career to that point. Christopher Joseph Isaak (born June 26, 1956) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and occasional actor. He is widely known for his breakthrough hit and signature song "Wicked Game", as well as other songs such as "Blue Hotel", "Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing" and "Somebody's Crying". ''Silvertone'' is the debut album by American musician Chris Isaak, released in 1985, and named after his three-piece backup band, though only one of the members actually appears on the album. The US edition includes the song "Another Idea" as track 13 and early CD editions of the album utilized ''CD+G'' technology. The album sold poorly in the US but became a minor hit in Australia, peaking at #77 in June 1986. Tracks in popular culture The album was not a hit until the song "Gone Ridin was featured in the 1986 David Lynch film '' Blue Velvet'', the first of many Isaak/Lynch collaborations, though the song had previously appeared on the soundtrack to the film '' American Flyers'' the year before. Heart Full Of Soul
"Heart Full of Soul" is a song recorded by English rock group the Yardbirds in 1965. Written by Graham Gouldman, it was the Yardbirds' first single after Jeff Beck replaced Eric Clapton as lead guitarist. Released only three months after "For Your Love", "Heart Full of Soul" reached the Top 10 on the singles charts in the UK, US, and several other countries. The Yardbirds first recorded the song with an Indian sitar player performing the distinctive instrumental figures. However, the group were dissatisfied with the results, so Beck developed the part on electric guitar to emulate the sitar. A contemporary review described it as an "oriental touch" and music writers have identified Beck's contribution as introducing Indian-influenced guitar stylings to rock music and one of the earliest examples of what became known as raga rock.
