''Wiadomości'' (''News'', ) is the chief Polish news program produced by Telewizja Polska and broadcast on the first channel, TVP1. The main edition is transmitted daily at 7:30p.m. CET. It premiered on 18 November 1989 and succeeded the '' Dziennik Telewizyjny'' (Television Journal), which was aired during the communist era for over 31 years. In September 2020, ''Wiadomości'' was the most popular news program in Poland, with an average of 2.66 million viewers a day. Since 14 September 2016, the acting editor-in-chief is Jarosław Olechowski. Since the first telecast, a letter W composed of two V letters serves as the program's official logo. Dziennik Telewizyjny
''Dziennik Telewizyjny'' ( en, Television Journal; DT), commonly simplified to ''Dziennik'' (lit. Journal), was the chief news program of Telewizja Polska between 1958 and 1989, in the Polish People's Republic. It was Poland's second regularly televised newscast and the primary propaganda tool used by the Polish United Workers' Party during the Cold War. The final episode aired on 17 November 1989 and the program was replaced by ''Wiadomości'' on the following day, 18 November 1989. ''Dziennik'' succeeded a previously run short-term news show on 1 January 1958. Every 30-minute episode was transmitted on the first channel, TVP1, at 08:00 p.m CET (1958–1965) and subsequently at 07:30 p.m CET from 1965 until the fall of communism in 1989. Law and Justice ( pl, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. Its chairman is Jarosław Kaczyński. It was founded in 2001 by Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński as a direct successor of the Centre Agreement after it split from the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS). It managed to win the 2005 parliamentary and presidential elections, after which Lech became the president of Poland. TVP1
TVP1 (TVP Jeden, ''Program I Telewizji Polskiej'', ''"Jedynka"'') is the main public television channel of TVP (Telewizja Polska S.A.), Poland's national television broadcaster. It was the first Polish channel to be broadcast and remains one of the most popular today. TVP1 was launched 25 October 1952. History TVP1 was launched as of 25 October 1952 as TV Polska. The tests resumed in the immediate post-war years and materialized in October 1952 with the launch of the first experimental broadcasts of Polish television. In January 1953, it broadcasts at the rate of half an hour per week, then an hour and a half in March. The schedule of programmes continued to grow and the broadcast time increased to 22 hours per week in 1957, 26 hours in 1958. Regional studios were added to those in Szczecin and Warsaw in 1956. Teleexpress is the second news program of the Telewizja Polska, TVP, broadcast daily on TVP1 and on TVP Info at 17:00 / 5:00PM. Until June 1992, it was broadcast at 17:15 / 5:15PM. TVP Info
TVP Info is a Polish free-to-air television news channel, run by the public broadcaster, state media TVP. It is focused on newscasts, airing nationwide news bulletins from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Its main offices are located at the TVP news compound in central Warsaw. TVP Info replaced TVP3 and was launched October 2007. It has regional branches in most of the major Polish cities and, similarly to France 3 in France or Rai Tre in Italy, for a couple of hours every day it broadcasts regional programming, including local news and reports in sixteen versions. These were transferred to the revived TVP Regionalna (which later was renamed TVP3 again) in September 2013.
