''When You Lie Next to Me'' is the debut studio album by American country music artist Kellie Coffey. It was released on May 7, 2002 by BNA Records. "When You Lie Next to Me," "At the End of the Day" and "Whatever It Takes" were all released as singles. The title track was Coffey's highest charting single, reaching No. 8 on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' country charts in 2002. The album is Coffey's only studio album affiliated with a professional record label. Critical reception Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic rated the album three stars out of five, describing Coffey as "a more approachable Faith Hill— her polished country-pop is every bit as urbane, yet it doesn't feel as glamorous." Kellie Ann Coffey (born April 22, 1971) is an American country music artist. She made her debut in 2002 with the release of her single "When You Lie Next to Me", a Top 10 hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. A steel guitar ( haw, kīkākila) is any guitar played while moving a steel bar or similar hard object against plucked strings. The bar itself is called a "steel" and is the source of the name "steel guitar". The instrument differs from a conventional guitar in that it is played without using frets; conceptually, it is somewhat akin to playing a guitar with one finger (the bar). Known for its portamento capabilities, gliding smoothly over every pitch between notes, the instrument can produce a sinuous crying sound and deep vibrato emulating the human singing voice. Bruce Bouton is an American guitarist, session musician, producer, and songwriter. His pedal steel guitar has been featured on many country music recordings, and he helped reintroduce the pedal steel guitar to the forefront of the Nashville sound. Richard Vance McDonald (born February 6, 1962) is an American country music singer and songwriter. From 1998 until his departure in 2007, he was the lead singer of the group Lonestar, which recorded seven studio albums on BNA Records during his tenure as lead vocalist. Billy Kirsch is an American songwriter and consultant. Early life Billy Kirsch attended Wesleyan University before leaving college to become a musician, focusing on a career as a jazz musician.
