''When Seconds Count'' is the sixth studio album by the American rock band Survivor, released in October 1986. It is the second album featuring vocalist Jimi Jamison. The album included the hit single, " Is This Love", which peaked at #9 in the US on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in early 1987. The album reached #49 on the ''Billboard'' 200 album chart. This is one of the many Survivor albums briefly taken out of print in 2009. However, it was remastered and reissued in 2011 and distributed by Rock Candy Records. Survivor is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Chicago in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. The band achieved its best success in the 1980s, producing many charting singles, especially in the United States. Jimi Jamison
Jimmy Wayne Jamison (August 23, 1951 – September 1, 2014) was an American singer. Best known as Jimi Jamison, he earned recognition as the frontman for the rock bands Target, Cobra, and Survivor from 1984 to 1989, performing the songs " Burning Heart" from the film ''Rocky IV'', " The Moment of Truth" from ''The Karate Kid'', along with other top-20 Survivor hits "I Can't Hold Back", " High On You", "The Search Is Over" and "Is This Love". He officially rejoined Survivor in 2000, remaining in the group until 2006, only to rejoin again in 2011. Acclaimed for his vocal abilities, Jamison is also known for having co-written and performed the theme song "I'm Always Here" for the 1990s TV series ''Baywatch''. Rumbo Recorders was a recording studio in the Canoga Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. History In 1977, Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille, the husband and wife team widely known as Captain & Tennille, began building the studio at 20215 Saticoy Street for their own private use following the success of their single "Love Will Keep Us Together". Dragon named the studio Rumbo Recorders after a toy elephant he named Rumbo when he was 5 years old. The studio's entrance was appropriately flanked by a large pair of elephant statues. After reassurance from Geordie Hormel at Village Recorder of the commercial viability of a studio, Dragon hired Rudy Brewer, who had done work at The Village, to complete Studio A. Ron Larson (artist)
Ron Larson is an art director, album cover designer and graphic artist. He has won two Grammys for his designs. He has worked closely with John Kosh and also done many various projects for Disney. He was also responsible for helping with the design of the original Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope logo as well as designing the logo for The Empire Strikes Back. He rendered the logo for Spinal Tap LP Break Like the Wind and the movie poster for Prince's Under The Cherry Moon. Besides working in both the movie industry and recording industry he was also involved in the art used on video game covers. Larson also helped design the logo used by United Artists Films. He currently teaches graphic design classes for undergraduate students at California State University, Fullerton. Mike Clink is an American record producer. He began his career as an engineer at Record Plant Studios, recording such bands as Whitesnake, Triumph, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Megadeth, UFO (including ''Strangers in the Night''), Jefferson Starship, The Babys, Heart, Eddie Money, and many others. Career Clink began producing in 1986. Tommy Roland Shaw (born September 11, 1953) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter best known for his tenure in the rock band Styx (band), Styx as co-lead vocalist. In between his stints with Styx, he has played with other groups including Damn Yankees (band), Damn Yankees and Shaw Blades as well as releasing several solo albums. Thomas F. Kelly (born April 16, 1952) is an American musician, best known for his songwriting partnership with Billy Steinberg. Steinberg and Kelly co-wrote numerous hit songs for popular music artists, including five number-one singles on the ''Billboard'' Top 100 chart in the 1980s. Early life Originally from Indiana, Kelly lived in Effingham, Illinois from 1963 to 1966, before moving back to West Lafayette, Indiana where he graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1967.
