''When Duty Calls'' ( zh, s=卫国先锋) is a 20-episode Singaporean drama produced and telecast on Mediacorp Channel 8 in 2017. It is to commemorate 50 years of National Service in Singapore. It is sponsored by Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs. It stars Desmond Tan, Romeo Tan, Pierre Png, Paige Chua and Felicia Chin as the main cast of the series with special appearance by Minister of Defence, Ng Eng Hen. Desmond Tan (actor)
Desmond Tan (, born 19 August 1986) is a Singaporean actor and was named as one of the 8 Dukes of Caldecott Hill. Career Tan first came to prominence in the entertainment industry when he finished runner-up to Andie Chen in '' Star Search 2007''. He was awarded a contract with MediaCorp and began his part time acting career with some minor roles in various Channel 8 dramas. Richie Koh (born 16 June 1993) is a Singaporean actor who is signed to MediaCorp and China's LongAllStar Entertainment Group. In 2023, Koh won the Star Awards for Best Actor for his critically acclaimed role as an intellectually disabled in the drama series '' Your World in Mine''. Star Awards 2018 (also SA2018SG, Chinese: 红星大奖2018) is a television award ceremony which is held in Singapore. The Post Party and Ceremony Awards was broadcast live on 22 April 2018. A total of 15 awards were handed out during the ceremony, among which the Special Achievement Award, an award given out to a celebrity in recognition to meritorious contribution, returned after a 15-year absence, with the award last presented in 2003, in the place of All-Time Favourite Artiste, which was not presented this year, and the third ceremony overall, after 2007 and 2013. Heart Attack
A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw. Often it occurs in the center or left side of the chest and lasts for more than a few minutes. The discomfort may occasionally feel like heartburn. Li Wenhai (, born ) is a veteran Singaporean actor. He has acted in various Singaporean television dramas. Career In 1981, Li joined Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC). In August 1991, after filming ''Jealousy Potion 100'', Li applied to have an early termination to his acting contract with SBC and to transfer to the voice dubbing department. After eight months, in April 1992, he resigned from SBC. After leaving SBC, Li opened a shop with friends selling Buddhist equipment at Balestier Shopping Center. The shop was eventually closed down in 1988 after the shop lease had finished and business was poor. Li was then invited by the producer and writer of ''Riding the Storm'' to act in the drama. Hong Huifang (born Ang Hwee Fong on 7 January 1961) is a Singaporean actress. Edmund Tay Kok Peng (born 27 May 1964), also known as Zheng Geping, is a Singaporean actor and executive producer managed under The Celebrity Agency. He works on the Chinese-language Channel 8.
