What Now
''What Now'' is a New Zealand children's television programme that premiered on Saturday 9 May 1981. It is currently filmed before a live audience at a different school in New Zealand, which is selected every week. The show airs every Sunday at 8.30 am on TVNZ 2 and has segments such as Tamariki Titans, DareDevil Levels and Hoover Hover. It has no adverts, due to the Broadcasting Act 1989 which states that no commercial advertising can be shown on New Zealand television between 6 am and noon on Sundays. WhitebaitMedia is a local independent New Zealand production company producing Children's television series, children's programmes. It was founded by Janine Morrell-Gunn in 1998. History Morrell-Gunn worked as an executive producer for TVNZ's Children's Unit while it was based in Christchurch, New Zealand. When the Unit moved to Wellington's Avalon studios, in 1998, Morrell-Gunn remained in Christchurch to start her own company, Whitebait Productions. Whitebait's first commission was ''Bumble (TV series), Bumble'', a preschool series about a bee and his friends. The first actor to wear the Bumble suit was her husband, Jason Gunn. ''Spot On'' is a New Zealand children's television programme that aired between from 1973 to 1988. The format was a weekly programme with three presenters, based on the format of the British programme '' Blue Peter'' where they would introduce their young audience to experiences they may not be familiar with, going out in the field and participating in jobs, events, or sports, to learn what is involved. Examples include fire-fighting, flying in rescue helicopters, visiting a chocolate factory, rock climbing and abseiling, or travelling to other countries. Studio-bound sketches and interviews filled out the half-hour show. Commonly one presenter was replaced each year. The programme was produced by TVNZ at their Dunedin studios, except for the final two seasons produced at the TVNZ Studio 4 facility in Christchurch. NZ On Air
NZ On Air (NZOA; mi, Irirangi te Motu), formally the Broadcasting Commission, is an autonomous Crown entity and commission of the New Zealand Government responsible for funding support for broadcasting and creative works. The commission operates largely separate from government policy but must follow directions from the Minister of Broadcasting. NZOA is responsible for the funding of public broadcasting content across television, radio and other media platforms. It is also a major investor in New Zealand independent producers. NZ On Air is the operating name of the Broadcasting Commission formed in the Broadcasting Act 1989 alongside the Broadcasting Standards Authority, meant to encourage individuals to pay the historical Broadcasting Fee that funded public broadcasters. Jason Gunn
Jason Gunn (born 26 December 1968) is a New Zealand television and radio personality. He is known for '' The Son of a Gunn Show, What Now, Dancing with the Stars, Wheel of Fortune'', and ''The Rich List'', and also afternoon shows on radio stations Classic Hits and More FM. Early career Gunn said he learned many of his presenting skills in his first few months at Christchurch from the experienced children's TV crew and presenters around him. He hosted '' After School'' (1989) and co-hosted '' The Son of a Gunn Show'' (1992–1995) and '' Jase TV'' (1992) with his sidekick Thingee, a grey puppet with bulbous eyes. Lower Hutt ( mi, Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai) is a city in the Wellington Region of New Zealand. Administered by the Hutt City Council, it is one of the four cities that constitute the Wellington metropolitan area. It is New Zealand's sixth most populous city, with a population of . The total area administered by the council is around the lower half of the Hutt Valley and along the eastern shores of Wellington Harbour, of which is urban. Avalon is a suburb of Lower Hutt in New Zealand, formed as a private residential development in the 1970s on land formerly occupied by market-gardens on the left (eastern) bank of the Hutt River.
