Weststellingwerf
Weststellingwerf (; Stellingwarfs: or ) is a municipality in the province of Friesland in the northern Netherlands. It is one of the municipalities of Friesland, where the spoken language is not West Frisian; instead, Stellingwerfs, a dialect of Dutch Low Saxon, is spoken here. Population centres A small part of the village Willemsoord lays within Weststellingwerf and Noordwolde-Zuid is also mainly named as a village, but stated by municipality as a hamlet. Noordwolde, Friesland
Noordwolde ( fry, Noardwâlde) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 3,600 as of 2017. , the settlement to the south of Noordwolde is considered a separate village. There is a restored windmill in the village, ''Windlust''. The National Museum of Weaving is located in the village. There is a natural lake, the Spokedam, which is partly surrounded by a beach, on the outskirts of Noordwolde. There are several camp sites near the lake such as "Hanestede" and the bungalow park "The Bosmeer". There is a swimming pool beside the Spokedam. There are two supermarkets and several other shops and restaurants in the village and the largest model train shop (G-scale) in Europe is in Noordwolde. History

De Hoeve is not a very old village. For the first time it was mentioned by its name in 1938. On a map of 1664 the territory was only heather. Shortly after that people built two farmhouses: an Oosterhoeve (East Hoeve) and a Westerhoeve (West Hoeve). A new map, drawn in 1718 shows both farmhouses. The area around it is also called Vinkegahoeve and Steggerdahoeve because they are in the neighbourhood of the small villages

Oldetrijne ( fry, Aldetrine) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 210 in 2017. The village was first mentioned in 1320 as Ostrinde, and means "old border line". Olde (old) has been added to distinguish from Nijetrijne. Munnekeburen ( fry, Munnikebuorren) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 430 in 2017. The village was first mentioned in 1243 as Monkeburen, and means monk neighbourhood. The monks were from the Saint Odulphus monastery in Stavoren. Munnekeburen started as peat excavation settlement along the Padsloot. The Dutch Reformed church was rebuilt in 1806. It was extensively modified in 1860.
