Antoine Westermann is a France, French chef born in 1949 in the Alsace, Alsatian town of Wissembourg, on the northeast border of France. He held 3 Michelin, Michelin Guide stars for his Strasbourg restaurant ''Le Buerehiesel'' and maintained a star rating at the restaurant for over 31 years until 2007, when he asked the Michelin Guide to remove them. Biography Early life Antoine Westermann decided to become a chef at age 8, encouraged by his father. He studied at ''L'Ecole Hôteliere'' in Strasbourg while apprenticing at the nearby ''Buffet de la Gare''. In 1969, after Westermann earned his professional diploma, his father took out a Mortgage loan, mortgage on the historic family home to purchase a small farmhouse in the middle of Strasbourg's ''Parc de l'Orangerie'' for Westermann, then 23, to turn into a restaurant. Heiko Westermann (born 14 August 1983) is a German former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Greuther Fürth Westermann began his professional career with 2. Bundesliga club Greuther Fürth. He joined the senior squad in July 2002 but did not make his first appearance until 26 January 2003 in a 1–0 win over MSV Duisburg. He played a total of 83 league games in his three seasons with the club, scoring two goals. William Linn Westermann
William Linn Westermann (September 15, 1873 – October 4, 1954) was an American historian and papyrologist who served as the president of the American Historical Association in 1944. He was regarded as an expert on the economy of the ancient world. Career Westermann was born in Belleville, Illinois, and attended the University of Nebraska and University of Berlin. He taught at the University of Missouri from 1902 to 1906, then left for the University of Minnesota. In 1908, Westermann joined the faculty of the University of Wisconsin. He spent twelve years of his academic career in Wisconsin, moving to Cornell University in 1920. He was appointed professor of ancient history at Columbia University on March 5, 1923. During his tenure at Columbia, Westermann acquired a large collection of Egyptian papyri for the institution. Lieselotte "Liesel" Westermann-Krieg (born Westermann on 2 November 1944; ) is a retired German discus thrower. She held the world record from 5 November 1967 to 12 August 1971, with a two-months break in 1968. Hans Westermann (July 17, 1890 – March 16, 1935) was a German Communist, politician and fighter in the German resistance to Nazism, German Resistance against the Third Reich. He died in Nazi custody days after being arrested by the Gestapo. Biography Westermann was born in Hamburg and was trained as a tailor. He joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in 1910, where he was a member of the left wing and volunteered in several capacities. in 1914, he was drafted into the navy, though opposed to the war. Bernt Wilhelm Westermann
Bernt Wilhelm Westermann (1781 in Copenhagen – 1868) was a wealthy Danish businessman who collected insects. An amateur insect collector Westermann travelled to Calcutta (India) and later to Jakarta (Indonesia) as an employee of an English business firm. At the Cape of Good Hope, in Bengal and Java he collected insects for English and Dutch friends, amongst others for Thomas Horsfield. In 1817 he returned to Copenhagen becoming a shipowner and owner of a sugar-refinery at Slotholmsgade in Copenhagen. Insects from all orders acquired and collected during the rest of his life added to his Cape, Java and Bengal insects to form a notable collection.
