West Midlands Police F.C.
West Midlands Police F.C. is a football club based in Birmingham, England. History They were established in 1928 and were formed out of Birmingham City Police. They first entered the FA Vase in 1975 and the FA Cup in the 1990–91 season. They won the Midland Combination Premier Division in the 1990–91 season and reached the quarter-finals of the FA Vase the following season. They were league runners-up in 1993–94, and transferred to the Midland Football Alliance, in which they played for seven seasons before returning to the Combination. As a result of a decline in membership and a lack of funding, the West Midlands Police folded the club in 2014. The side competed in the Police Athletic Association Cup against other forces. Moreover, in previous years, the Police have played against the Queen's Royal Hussars for the Hydrabad Cup. FA Vase
The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). The Midland Football Combination was an English football league covering parts of the West Midlands. It comprised five divisions, a Premier Division, Divisions One and Two and two Reserves Divisions. The league was one of three official feeder leagues to the Midland Football Alliance. Prior to 2006, the Premier Division was defined as step 7 in the National League System, even though it fed into the step 5 Midland Alliance. In 2006, it was re-graded as step 6, making teams in the top two divisions eligible to take part in the FA Vase and teams in the top division eligible to enter the FA Cup. Midland Football Alliance
The Midland Football Alliance was an English association football league for semi-professional teams. It covered Leicestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire and also southern parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The league consisted of a single division which sat at Step 5 of the National League System, or the ninth level of the overall English football league system. The league was formed in 1994, drawing its initial membership from the strongest clubs in the Midland Football Combination and the West Midlands (Regional) League, both of which became feeder leagues to the new competition. Each season, the champion club of each feeder league was eligible for promotion to the Alliance, and Alliance clubs could in turn be relegated to the feeder leagues. West Midlands Police is the territorial police force responsible for policing the metropolitan county of West Midlands in England. Mark Bellingham
Mark Bellingham (born 7 March 1976) is an English former footballer who played as a striker and a retired Police Sergeant of the West Midlands Police. At his prime he played in the Northern and Southern League Premier Division, both at level 7 of the pyramid. Early life Bellingham is a native of Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England.
