West Islip High School is a public high school in the town of West Islip, in Suffolk County, New York on the South Shore of Long Island. It is part of the West Islip Union Free School District. The station is owned by Connecticut Radio Fellowship, Inc. and features programming from Salem Communications. Sal Caccavale
Salvatore Caccavale (born May 16, 1985 in West Islip, New York) is a former American soccer midfielder and now coach. He founded and directs his own youth soccer club called Achilles FC. He also serves as the head men’s soccer coach at St. John’s College High School in Washington D.C.. Playing career Caccavale played high school soccer from 1999 to 2002 for the West Islip Lions and collegiately at American University, where he finished as the seventh leading scorer in school history. He led the team in points in 2006, and was named First Team All-Patriot League three straight years. In January 2007, New York Red Bulls picked Caccavale in the second round of the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft, 19th overall. Bob Wenzel (born October 4, 1949) is a former American college basketball coach and broadcaster for the Big Ten Network, ESPN, CBS Sports and Fox Sports. Biography College playing/Coaching career Wenzel graduated from Rutgers University in 1971 with a degree in history, and headed to the University of Utah for his graduate work. In 1973, he earned his master's degree in education from Utah. While at Utah, Wenzel began his coaching career as a graduate assistant. Gary Sullivan (born June 24, 1982 in West Islip, New York) is an American soccer defender who plays for the Long Island Rough Riders. He spent one season with the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer. Youth Sullivan attended West Islip High School where he was a four year varsity letterman. Douglas Seegers (born c. 1952 in Long Island, New York, United States) is an American country music artist, guitarist and songwriter. Life and work Seegers graduated from West Islip High School and started playing music in New York and Austin, Texas, before moving to upstate New York, where he married and raised two children. Eventually, he went alone to Nashville, where he played on the streets and became a regular at The Little Pantry That Could, a West Nashville charity that holds regular songwriter nights. Alfred Oerter Jr. (September 19, 1936 – October 1, 2007) was an American athlete and a four-time Olympic Games, Olympic Champion in the discus throw. He was the first athlete to win a gold medal in the same individual event in four consecutive Olympic Games. Oerter is an inductee of the IAAF Hall of Fame. Sean Henry (born 1968 in Long Island) is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Hockey League's Nashville Predators. Biography The son of a carpenter, Henry worked his way up from the concession stand in Detroit to executive-level positions within the NHL.
