Wesley Madhevere
Wesley Nyasha Madhevere (born 4 September 2000) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his international debut for the Zimbabwe cricket team in March 2020. Career Madhevere made his List A debut on 8 February 2020, for Mashonaland Eagles in the 2019–20 Pro50 Championship. Prior to his List A debut, he was named as the vice-captain of Zimbabwe's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was also part of Zimbabwe's teams for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, with the International Cricket Council (ICC) naming him as the rising star of the squad following the 2018 tournament. He made his first-class debut on 20 February 2020, for Mashonaland Eagles in the 2019–20 Logan Cup. In February 2020, Madhevere was named in Zimbabwe's One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads for their tour against Bangladesh. Harare
Harare (; formerly Salisbury ) is the capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. The city proper has an area of 940 km2 (371 mi2) and a population of 2.12 million in the 2012 census and an estimated 3.12 million in its metropolitan area in 2019. 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament held in Bangladesh from 22 January to 14 February 2016. It was the eleventh edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the second to be held in Bangladesh, after the 2004 event. The World Cup was contested by the national under-19 teams of sixteen International Cricket Council (ICC) members, and all matches played were held under-19 One Day International (ODI) status. Ten teams qualified automatically for the tournament through their status as ICC full members, while five others qualified by winning regional qualifying events. The final place at the tournament was taken by the winner of the 2015 Under-19 World Cup Qualifier, which was contested by the runners-up at the five regional qualifiers. List Of One Day International Cricket Hat-tricks
A hat-trick in cricket is when a bowler takes three wickets on consecutive deliveries, dismissing three different batsmen. It is a relatively rare event in One Day International (ODI) cricket with only 49 occurrences in 4222 matches since the first ODI match between Australia and England on 5 January 1971. The first ODI hat-trick was taken by Pakistan's Jalal-ud-Din against Australia in Hyderabad, Sindh, in September 1982. Dutch Cricket Team In Zimbabwe In 2022–23
The Netherlands men's cricket team toured Zimbabwe in March 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, and both teams' preparations for the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Earlier the series was scheduled to be played in September 2020, however, in August 2020, the tour was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ahead of the series, the Netherlands played a 50-over warm up match against a Zimbabwe XI side. In the first ODI, Netherlands recovered from 110/6 in their chase of the host's 249 to win by three wickets and with one ball remaining, with Teja Nidamanuru scoring an unbeaten century. Afghanistan National Cricket Team
The Afghanistan men's national team ( ps, د افغانستان کرکټ ملي لوبډله, fa, تیم ملی کریکت افغانستان) represents Afghanistan in international cricket. Cricket has been played in Afghanistan since the mid-19th century, but it was only in the early 21st century that the national team began to enjoy success. The Afghanistan Cricket Board was formed in 1995 and became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001 and a member of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2003. Zimbabwean Cricket Team Against Afghanistan In The UAE In 2020–21
The Zimbabwe cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in March 2021 to play two Test and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against Afghanistan. It was the first time the two teams had played a Test match against each other. Ahmed Shah Pakteen was named as the on-field umpire for both Tests, becoming the first Afghan umpire to officiate in Test cricket. Originally the series was scheduled to be played in Oman. In January 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) gave accreditation for the Ministry Turf 1 at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Muscat to host Test cricket. However, in February 2021, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed that the series would take place in the UAE. 2020–21 Logan Cup
The 2020–21 Logan Cup was the 27th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, which started on 9 December 2020. After originally scheduled to start on 3 December 2020, the tournament was moved back a week to allow time to setup a bio-secure bubble. Five teams took part in the competition, including the Southern Rocks, who last played in the 2013–14 tournament. There was no defending champion, after the previous tournament was voided due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Four matches were played during December 2020. However, on 3 January 2021, Zimbabwe Cricket halted all cricket in the country following a rise in COVID-19 cases. In mid-March 2021, it was reported that the tournament would resume later that month, with the next round of matches starting on 18 March 2021. The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Bangladesh in February and March 2020 to play one Test match, three One Day International (ODI) and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. On 26 January 2020, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the itinerary for the tour. It was the first time that a tour between the two sides featured a one-off Test match. Zimbabwe last toured Bangladesh in October and November 2018, and last won a series in the country during their tour in November 2001. On 9 February, the BCB moved the three ODI matches from Chittagong to the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, to give the venue more exposure and international attention.
