Weser-Bahn
The Weser-Bahn (Weser railway) is the name used in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) for a Regionalbahn service that connects Bünde in NRW via Löhne, Rinteln, Hamelin, Elze to Hildesheim. The section of the route from Rinteln to Hildesheim lies in the state of Lower Saxony. The service is numbered as RB 77 in NRW. Route The Weser-Bahn service runs on four different railway lines: *The Weser-Bahn begins in Bünde on the Löhne–Rheine railway and follow it up to its terminus in Löhne; *In Löhne, the Weser-Bahn changes to the Elze–Löhne railway, which it used for its whole length; *From Elze to Nordstemmen the Weser-Bahn runs over the Hanoverian Southern Railway; *The final section of the Weser-Bahn runs to Hildesheim via the Lehrte–Nordstemmen railway. Vlotho Station
Vlotho station is a station on the Elze–Löhne railway in the east Westphalian town of Vlotho in the Herford district of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The line connects Löhne, Hamelin and Hildesheim and is served by the Weser-Bahn service. All buildings including the entrance building have not been used for their original purposes since 1992 and they are no longer owned by Deutsche Bahn. Conditions The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station. It is on federal highway 514 northeast of the town centre on the west bank of the Weser. The Vlotho town hall is nearby. Barrier-free access was built to the platform via an underpass from the adjacent town bus station in 2012. Bad Oeynhausen Süd Station
Bad Oeynhausen Süd (south) station is located in the Westphalian spa town of Bad Oeynhausen in Minden-Lübbecke in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Elze–Löhne railway and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station. Conditions Bad Oeynhausen Süd station is located south of the town centre and the spa park. Elze–Löhne Railway
The Elze–Löhne railway is a non-electrified line from the town of Elze in the German state of Lower Saxony via Hamelin and Rinteln to Löhne in North Rhine-Westphalia. It runs between the Weser and the Weser hills from Hamelin to Bad Oeynhausen and as a result this section is also called the Weser Railway (german: Weserbahn). The line was previously part of the main route for freight from Berlin to Amsterdam via Hildesheim, Elze, Löhne, Osnabrück, Rheine and Almelo. In the 1990s and the 2000s, the formerly double-track main line was reduced to one track. The line can be operated at up to 120 km/h. Löhne–Rheine Railway
The Löhne–Rheine railway is a two-track, continuously electrified railway main line from Löhne in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia via Osnabrück in Lower Saxony to Rheine in North Rhine-Westphalia. It runs parallel to the Wiehen Hills to the north and to the Teutoburg Forest to the south. The line opened in 1855 and 1856 and was one of the oldest railways in Germany. Hamelin Station
Hamelin station is a category 3 station in the town of Hamelin (German: ''Hameln'') in the German state of Lower Saxony. It is situated on the Hanover–Altenbeken and the Elze–Löhne lines. History Hamelin station was built by the Hanover-Altenbeken Railway Company (german: Hannover-Altenbekener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, HAE) on the Hanover–Altenbeken railway, which was opened to the town from Hanover on 13 April 1872, and the wedge-shaped station building was inaugurated on 30 December 1872. On 30 June 1875, the Elze–Löhne railway was opened by the HAE and Hamlin became a junction station. There is extensive trackage to the east of the station building. Rinteln station is located on the Elze–Löhne railway in the town of Rinteln in the district of Schaumburg in the German state of Lower Saxony. The town lies on the Weser and is important for tourism. Eurobahn is a railway operator in Germany, established in 1998. It operates regional train services in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, with cross-border services including Lower Saxony and the Netherlands. Initially a joint venture between Keolis and Rhenus operating bus and rail services, it became a 100% Keolis subsidiary operating rail services only in 2007. DB Class 628
The DB Class 628 is a twin-car, diesel multiple unit operated by the Deutsche Bahn for local passenger rail services. Design ''(The following description is primarily related to the Class 628.4, and is largely valid for the other variants as well)'' Each coach rests on two twin-axle bogies. Only the bogie at the close-coupled end of the coach is driven. Lehrte–Nordstemmen Railway
The Lehrte–Nordstemmen railway is a continuous double track, electrified main line railway in the German state of Lower Saxony. It connects the railway junction of Lehrte with Hildesheim and Nordstemmen, where it connects with the Hanoverian Southern Railway.
