Wendy Jean King is an English international bowls player. Bowls career Wendy King won a silver medal at the 2008 World Outdoor Bowls Championship pairs and competed in the 2012 World Outdoor Bowls Championship and 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship. The bowler who represents Kent has won three National titles; in 2001 she won the National Triples followed by the 2006 and 2009 Two Wood Singles Championship. In 2013, she won three medals at the European Bowls Championships in Spain and in 2015, she won the pairs and fours bronze medals at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. World Bowls Championship
The World Bowls Championship is the premier world bowls competition between national bowls organisations. The premier indoor event is the World Indoor Bowls Championships listed separately and is organised by the World Bowls Tour. World Outdoor Championships First held in Australia in 1966, the World Outdoor Bowls Championships for men and women are held every four years. From 2008 the men's and women's events were held together. Qualifying national bowls organisations (usually countries) are represented by a team of five players, who play once as a single and a four, then again as a pair and a triple. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded in each of the four disciplines, and there is also a trophy for the best overall team — the Leonard Trophy for men and the Taylor Trophy for women. Ellen Marie Falkner (née Alexander; born 12 June 1979) is an English international lawn and indoor bowler from Cambridge, England. Falkner was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 Birthday Honours for services to lawn bowls. Jamie-Lea Marshall (née Jamie-Lea Winch) (born 18 October 1990) is an English international lawn bowler. Bowls career Jamie competed for England in the women's pairs at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a silver medal with Natalie Melmore. In 2015 she won the triples silver medal and fours bronze medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships and in 2016, she was part of the fours team with Rebecca Wigfield, Wendy King and Ellen Falkner who won the silver medal at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch. 2012 World Outdoor Bowls Championship
The 2012 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was held at the Lockleys Bowling Club in Adelaide, Australia, from 24 November to 9 December 2012. Some of the qualifying rounds were held at the nearby Holdfast Bowling Club in Glenelg North.
