The Wellington School (simply referred to as Wellington) is a PK–12 private, co-educational, college-preparatory school in Upper Arlington, Ohio, United States. It was established in 1982 by a group of entrepreneurs. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and Independent Schools Association of the Central States. It was named a Top Workplace by Columbus CEO magazine in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Wellington was also named Best Private School in the Best of Business poll by Columbus CEO magazine in 2015 and 2016. Wellington School, Bebington
Wellington School was a small private grammar school in Wellington Road, Bebington, Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, England. History Founded by John Philip Fogg (born 1917) in 1953, the main school building (Mount Allars) was bought with the accrued 'war pay' owed to Mr Fogg, who was an officer in the mercantile marine, captured in 1941 by the Japanese and held as a POW for four years. A visionary and an idealist, Mr Fogg was deeply influenced by the educational reforms which were realised by a series of Christian school masters in the nineteenth century. His interests included: playing the organ; the Middle Ages; mediaeval art, literature and architecture; chivalry; the Romantic poets; the Lake District and motoring in his vintage pre-war motor car. His churchmanship was "low" with a strong affiliation to nonconformity. Wellington School, Midlothian, Scotland was a residential school for boys, owned by the City of Edinburgh Council and operated by the Council's Children and Families Department. It was operational between 1859 and 2014. Established in 1859 and initially known as "The Wellington Reformatory Farm School", the school was the creation of "The Edinburgh Association for the Reformation of Juvenile Offenders"; one of the founding members of the association was the Rev. Dr. Thomas Guthrie. The Wellington Reformatory Farm School sprang from thinking similar to that which created the reform school developments in the United States. The school admitted its first pupil in February 1860: James Watt, aged eleven years. Wellington School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form with academy status. It is located in Timperley in the English county of Greater Manchester. Wrekin College
Wrekin College is an independent co-educational boarding and day school located in Wellington, Shropshire, England. It was founded by Sir John Bayley in 1880 and is known as ‘The School in the Garden’ owing to its extensive grounds and playing fields. Part of the Allied Schools, it is also a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference. History The school was founded in 1880 as Wellington College by Sir John Bayley. The Wellington Group or Wellington School was a group of poets who worked and lived in and around Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, in the 1950s and 1960s. History The movement started with Louis Johnson, who started up the ''Poetry Yearbook'' which ran from 1951 to 1964. In part, it was a reaction to Allen Curnow's dictum of localism in NZ poetry, emphasising universalism, but both the Wellington Group and Curnow liked to use some degree of Māori symbolism.
