Weightlifting At The 2019 African Games
Weightlifting at the 2019 African Games was held from 25 to 30 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. The event served as a qualifier for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Later five Egyptian athletes (Abderrahmane Al Sayed, Ibrahim Moustafa, Samar Hossein, Sara Ahmed Samir, Farag Salma) were disqualified due to anti-doping violations. Forrester Osei (born 12 September 1989) is a Ghanaian weightlifter, competing in the 94 kg category and representing Ghana at international competitions. He competed at 2016 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships and won gold in his weight division. He competed at World Weightlifting Championships in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021. Mohamed Ehab Youssef Ahmed Mahmoud (born 21 November 1989), known as Mohamed Mahmoud or Mohamed Ehab, is an Egyptian weightlifter, and World Champion competing in the 77 kg category until 2018 and 81 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories. Early life Ehab was born in Faiyum, Egypt a city located 100 kilometers southwest from Cairo. He was introduced to weightlifting by his father. Ehab started training with a coach at the age of 8 after his brother took him to a weightlifting gym. He went on to join the Egyptian national team at the age of 15 at a body weight of 56 kg.
