Weidman is an unincorporated community in Isabella County, Michigan, United States. It is a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes, but has no independent municipal authority. The population of the CDP was 959 at the 2010 census, up from 879 at the 2000 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which are land and , or 4.98%, are water. The built-up center of town is in the southern part of the CDP, on the south side of Lake of the Hills on the Coldwater River. The Coldwater is a south-flowing tributary of the Chippewa River and thus part of the Saginaw River drainage basin. Weidman is by road northwest of Mount Pleasant, the Isabella County seat, and southwest of Clare. The community is situated on the boundary between Nottawa Township on the east and Sherman Township on the west. Isabella Indian Reservation
The Isabella Indian Reservation is the primary land base of the federally recognized Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Nation, located in Isabella County in the central part of the U.S. state of Michigan. The tribe also has some small parcels of off-reservation trust land in Standish Township, Arenac County, near Saginaw Bay and southeast of the city of Standish. Tribal lands are held in trust by the federal government on behalf of the nation. Clare is a city mostly in Clare County in the U.S. State of Michigan. A small portion of the city extends south into Isabella County. The population was 3,254 at the 2020 census.
