Demographics

The Village benefited from the real estate boom of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Since incorporating in May 1998 there have been 332 new homes built in the community. Of those, over 250 were built after the 2000 census. In addition to residential real estate development, the village's small commercial downtown began to development. In 2007 a new Village Hall was built which provides over of meeting and office space. In terms of land area, Lake Isabella ranks as the state's second largest village. As of the 2000 Census Lake Isabella was the 71st largest village in the state in terms of population. The village also has a large street network of about 27 miles of streets which is the second largest street network for any village in Michigan. As of 2011 the tax base for the community had grown to over $70 million, making it the 17th largest for all of Michigan's villages.
