Weekend AM
''Weekend AM'' (stylised as ''Weekend:am'') is an Irish morning television show on Virgin Media One, that was first broadcast as ''"Saturday AM"'' on 29 August 2015 at 09:00, with ''"Sunday AM"'' beginning the following day. Development Following the success of ''Ireland AM'' and an absence of live breakfast television on the weekends, the TV3 Group (now Virgin Media Television) confirmed in June 2015, it would introduce a weekend slot to its schedule. It was confirmed ''Ireland AM'' presenter Anna Daly would move to the new weekend slot and present alongside Ivan Yates and Laura Woods. The show broadcasts between 09:00 to 12:00 each Saturday and Sunday. The programme features news, current affairs, weather updates and analysis of the weekend newspapers with in-studio guests. On 30 August 2018, to coincide with the rebranding of TV3 to "Virgin Media One", ''Ireland AM'' launched a new set, and the Saturday and Sunday editions of the programme were renamed as ''"Weekend AM"' ... Television in the Republic of Ireland is available through a variety of platforms. The digital terrestrial television service is known as Saorview and is the primary source of broadcast television since analogue transmissions ended on 24 October 2012. Digital satellite (from Sky Ireland, Saorsat and other European satellite service providers are available) and digital cable (from Virgin Media Ireland) are also widely used. The Irish satellite fill-in service (Saorsat) is via Ka-Sat using the Irish KA band spot and has been available since June 2011. The ''Daily Mirror'' is a British national daily tabloid. Founded in 1903, it is owned by parent company Reach plc. Ivan Yates
Ivan Yates (born 23 October 1959) is an Irish broadcaster, businessman and former politician. He was elected as a Fine Gael Teachta Dála (TD) for the Wexford constituency at the 1981 general election and at each election until his retirement from politics in 2002. He also served as Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry from 1994 to 1997. Early life Yates was born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford. He was educated at Aravon School, Bray; St. Columba's Church of Ireland College in Rathfarnham, Dublin; and Gurteen Agricultural College, County Tipperary. Political career When he was first elected in 1981, Yates was the youngest member of the 22nd Dáil and is also the fifth-youngest ever member of Dáil Éireann at the age of 21. ''Ireland AM'' is an Irish morning television show on Virgin Media One. It airs live every weekday from 07:00 to 10:00, and weekends from 9:00 to 12:00. The program features news, current affairs, weather updates, showbiz, fashion, beauty, food, health, home and garden. Its current weekday presenters are Alan Hughes, Muireann O'Connell and Tommy Bowe. The show is currently sponsored by Fairy, Febreze, Lenor, Ariel and Flash while the programme was previously sponsored by P&G, Unilever, Dolmio and Kellogg's. As of 2021, Ireland AM is the only Irish breakfast programme currently airing. As part of a new daytime schedule line up, from Monday 7 October 2019 the programme was extended to 11:00 am on weekdays, with the weekend editions now rebranded as Ireland AM too. Anna Daly
Anna Daly (born 10 March 1977) is an Irish television presenter. She worked for TV3 and was a presenter on TV3's breakfast show, ''Ireland AM'' and ''Weekend AM''. Daly was born in Dublin and graduated with an International Marketing degree from the Marketing Institute of Ireland. She spent four years working in sponsorship and marketing for TV3, eventually becoming the station's Marketing Manager. She married Ben Ward in Portugal in September 2008. They have three sons. In 2008, Daly was nominated for ''Image Magazines Young Business Woman of the Year. She has also won at the TV Now Awards.
