A civil township is a widely used unit of local government in the United States that is subordinate to a county, most often in the northern and midwestern parts of the country. Westpoint, Indiana
West Point (sometimes shown as Westpoint) is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Wayne Township, Tippecanoe County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 594 at the 2010 census. The community is part of the Lafayette, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The town was platted in 1833 by Samuel Kiser. It was founded as Middleton, but residents changed the name of the town to West Point. The West Point post office has been in operation since 1836. Geography West Point is located at (40.345036, -87.043066) along State Road 25 at an elevation of approximately 673 feet. The town is in Wayne Township and sits about a quarter of a mile north of Flint Creek which flows west to the Wabash River. A village named Glen Hall existed on the north side of West Point in the 19th century; though still populated, the site is now generally considered part of West Point. Indiana's 4th Congressional District
Indiana's 4th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Indiana. From 2003 to 2013 the district was based primarily in the central part of the state, and consisted of all of Boone, Clinton, Hendricks, Morgan, Lawrence, Montgomery, and Tippecanoe counties and parts of Fountain, Johnson, Marion, Monroe, and White counties. The district surrounded Indianapolis including the suburban area of Greenwood and encompassed the more exurban areas of Crawfordsville and Bedford, as well as the college town of Lafayette-West Lafayette, containing Purdue University. From the 2012 redistricting, the district shifted slightly north and west to include the Illinois border, while losing the eastern Indianapolis suburbs. State Road 25 is a highway in the U. S. state of Indiana. Although it is designated a north–south road, in practice it travels generally northeast from its southern terminus at State Road 32 (south of Waynetown and north of Shades State Park) to its northern terminus at State Road 15 in Warsaw. Route description Waynetown to Lafayette SR 25 heads north from its southern terminus towards Waynetown. In Waynetown SR 25 is concurrence with U.S. Route 136. Then SR 25 heads north towards Wingate passing over Interstate 74. In Wingate SR 25, has an intersection with the southern terminus of State Road 55. Warren Township is one of twelve townships in Warren County, Indiana, United States. According to the 2010 census, its population was 806 and it contained 324 housing units. History Warren Township was one of the original four created when the county was organized in 1827. Geography According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , of which (or 98.63%) is land and (or 1.40%) is water. Kates Pond is in this township, and the streams of Dry Branch, Kickapoo Creek, Little Pine Creek, Middle Branch and West Fork Kickapoo Creek run through it. Davis Township is one of eleven townships in Fountain County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 682 and it contained 286 housing units. Geography According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , of which (or 99.28%) is land and (or 0.72%) is water. It contains no incorporated settlements but four unincorporated ones.
