Wayne Tallon
Wayne Tallon (born May 22, 1956) is a Canadian curler from Fredericton, New Brunswick. He is the 2013 Canadian Senior champion skip and 2014 World Senior champion skip. Career Ontario Tallon is originally from Ontario. Curling out of the Navy Curling Club in Ottawa, he won three Silver Regalia Tankards, in 1984, 1986 and 1987. New Brunswick men's Tallon would later move to New Brunswick, where he eventually teamed up with another ex-Ontarian in Russ Howard, who had beaten him in the 1986 Ontario championship finals. Tallon played third for the Howard rink that won the 1999 New Brunswick provincial men's championship. The team represented New Brunswick at the 1999 Labatt Brier where they finished in fourth place after losing to Saskatchewan's Gerald Shymko in the playoffs. Rockland, Ontario
Rockland is a bilingual community located about east of downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, part of the city of Clarence-Rockland. Rockland has a population of 26,505 (2021). It is home to a large part of the francophone community in Eastern Ontario along with the towns situated to the east and the Ottawa suburb of Orleans to the west. The New Brunswick Tankard is the New Brunswick provincial championship for men's curling. It was formerly called the Papa John's Pizza Tankard, Pepsi Tankard, Molson Canadian Men's Provincial Curling Championship, Alexander Keith's Tankard, the Labatt Tankard and Ganong Cup. Mike Kennedy (curler)
Michael C. Kennedy (born August 6, 1962) is a Canadian curler from Edmundston, New Brunswick. Curling career Kennedy is a former Canadian and World Senior Curling Champion. He won both the 2013 Canadian Senior Curling Championships and 2014 World Senior Curling Championships playing third for the Wayne Tallon rink. Kennedy has also won two provincial seniors titles, winning with Tallon in 2013 and playing third for Mark Armstrong in 2014. As a junior curler, Kennedy won a provincial championship playing third for the Ron Healey rink in 1980. Kennedy has been one of the perennial top skips in New Brunswick since the 1990s. Kennedy won his first provincial men's championship in 1992, earning the right to represent New Brunswick at the 1992 Labatt Brier. 2013 Canadian Senior Curling Championships
The 2013 Canadian Senior Curling Championships were held from March 16 to 24 at the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Bruce Delaney
Bruce Delaney (born c. 1954) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa. Delaney is a six-time Silver Tankard winner (1980, 1984, 1986, 1987, 2007, 2010), representing various clubs in Eastern Ontario, but usually representing the Navy Curling Club in Ottawa. He has won the annual City of Ottawa men's bonspiel Grand Aggregate Championship several times. Delaney was a competitive curler in Ontario in the 1970s and 1980s, but never made it to the Brier, Canada's national championship. He came the closest in 1986, when he lost the Labatt's Tankard provincial final against Russ Howard, playing third for Wayne Tallon. Delaney has found more success as a senior (50+) curler, and is a 3 time provincial senior champion. His Navy rink of George Mitchell, Duncan Jamieson, and Rick Bachand won titles in 2006, 2008 and 2009. Eugene Hritzuk
Eugene Hritzuk (born c. 1949) is a Canadian curler from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He is a former World Senior men's champion skip. Hritzuk has won two provincial championships as skip, once in 1985 and again in 1988. This qualified him for the Brier both times. At the 1985 Labatt Brier, he finished the round robin with a 6-5 record. He had to play in two tie-breakers, which he won to get to the semi-final, where he lost to Northern Ontario's Al Hackner. At the 1988 Labatt Brier, he finished the Brier with an 8-3 record, and lost to Alberta's Pat Ryan in the final. It would be his last Brier. Since then, Hritzuk has been a successful seniors curler, and has represented Saskatchewan at the Canadian Seniors Championships in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2012. The 2008 Canadian Senior Curling Championships were held March 22–30 at the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The winning teams represented Canada at the 2009 World Senior Curling Championships. Canadian Senior Curling Championships
The Canadian Senior Curling Championships are an annual bonspiel held to determine the national champions in senior curling for Canada. Seniors are defined as being people over the age of 50. The championship teams play at the World Senior Curling Championships the following year. The event's first committee was established in October 1964. Frank Sargent was an original member of the senior championship committee, and believed the event would attract former Brier competitors and give seniors a place to compete which had not existed. The inaugural Canadian Seniors Curling Championship was hosted in Port Arthur in March 1965. It used a minimum age of 55 for competitors, and had the Seagram Company The Seagram Company Ltd. (which traded as Seagram's) was a Canadian multinational conglomerate formerly headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. Canadian Mixed Curling Championship
The Canadian Mixed Curling Championship is the national curling championship for mixed curling in Canada. The winners of the tournament will represent Canada at the World Mixed Curling Championship. In mixed curling, the positions on a team must alternate between men and women. If a man throws last rocks, which is usually the case, the women must throw lead rocks and third rocks, while the other male member of the team throws second rocks. In 2004, Shannon Kleibrink became the only woman to skip a team and win a Canadian Mixed championship. 2006 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2006 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held from March 11 to 19 at the Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. In the final, Quebec's Jean-Michel Ménard rink became only the second Quebec team to win the Brier. They also became the first francophone team to win. James Grattan (curler)
James Grattan, nicknamed "Jimmy the Kid" (born July 28, 1974 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Oromocto, New Brunswick. He currently skips his own team. Career Grattan's best personal result as a skip at the Brier is third place (). In 2002–2004 he played third for Russ Howard. He skipped again in (5–6 in Regina), after defeating Dan Sherrard in the New Brunswick Tankard final, and (2–9 Winnipeg), after defeating Jeremy Mallais in the provincial final. He played third for Howard again in (6–5 Calgary). He moved back to skip the following season and the team won the provincial championship. He skipped the team to a 3–8 record at the 2010 Tim Hortons Brier. Grattan curled with Charlie Sullivan, Steven Howard and Pete Case for the 2010–11 season.
