2013 Canadian Senior Curling Championships
The 2013 Canadian Senior Curling Championships were held from March 16 to 24 at the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Summerside last hosted the Canadian Senior Championships in 2009. The winners of the championships will go on to represent Canada at the 2014 World Senior Curling Championships. Summerside, Prince Edward Island
Summerside is a Canadian city in Prince County, Prince Edward Island. It is the second largest city in the province and the primary service centre for the western part of the island. History Summerside was officially incorporated as a town on April 1, 1877. On April 1, 1995, the Town of Summerside amalgamated with the incorporated communities of St. Eleanors and Wilmot. At the same time, the amalgamated Summerside annexed portions of the Community of Sherbrooke and the Lot 17 township. It was PEI's second incorporated city, after the provincial capital of Charlottetown. Summerside is named for an inn owned by George Linkletter II, called Summer Side House. The 2012 Canadian Senior Curling Championships were held from March 17 to 25 at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre in Abbotsford, British Columbia. British Columbia last hosted the Canadian Seniors in 2004, and has previously hosted 6 Canadian Senior men's championships and five Canadian Senior women's championships. Robert J. MacLean (born March 8, 1970, in Torrejon Air Base, Spain) is a former United States Federal Air Marshal and whistleblower. Early career MacLean served in the U.S. Air Force from 1988 to 1992. After his discharge, MacLean entered the United States Border Patrol as a border patrol agent. MacLean was recruited by the Federal Aviation Administration's Federal Air Marshal program immediately after the September 11 attacks. MacLean was in the first air marshal class to graduate after the September 11, 2001 attacks. After subsequently hiring a significant number of new air marshals, the FAA program was moved under the new Department of Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration and called the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS). Alan O'Leary
Alan O'Leary (born February 4, 1962, in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian curling, curler from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. O'Leary won a provincial junior title in 1981 and represented Nova Scotia at the 1981 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. There, he led his team of Paul Dykeman, David Young and Scott Sutherland to a 5–6 record. O'Leary has won two Deloitte Tankard, provincial championships as a skip (curling), skip winning in 1993 and 1994. He and his team of Bob LeClair, Steve Johnston (curler), Steve Johnston and Steve Piggott represented Nova Scotia at the 1993 Labatt Brier, where he O'Leary led his team to a 2–9 record, in last place. Rod MacDonald (curler)
Rod MacDonald (born August 17, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter, novelist, and educator. He was a "big part of the 1980s folk revival in Greenwich Village clubs", performing at the Speakeasy, The Bottom Line, Folk City, and the "Songwriter's Exchange" at the Cornelia Street Cafe. He co-founded the Greenwich Village Folk Festival, now a non-profit, and is still the President and co-producer of its events. Wade White (born c. 1962) is a Canadian curler. He currently skips (captains) his own team based in Alberta, Canada. White is a two-time winner of the world senior men's curling championship, in 2018 and 2022. Early life White was raised in Preeceville, Saskatchewan with his brother George. Curling Canada (formerly the Canadian Curling Association (CCA)) is a sanctioning body for the sport of Curling in Canada. It is associated with more than a dozen provincial and territorial curling associations across the country, and organizes Canada's national championships in the sport.
