''Wave Runner'' (stylized as ''WAVE RUNNER'') is the fifteenth studio album by Japanese electronica band Capsule, released on February 18, 2015, by Warner Music Japan sublabel Unborde. The album debuted at the fifth spot on the Oricon Weekly Albums chart with 11,395 copies. Background The album was announced on August 9, 2014, at their performance in Rock in Japan Fes, as being due for release later that year. The duo performed songs from the album in October and November 2014. Some of the new songs were subjects of continuous rearrangements by Yasutaka Nakata from time to time, with the final versions included in the album. After several months with no further word of the album's release, Unborde announced on November 28, 2014 the album title, track list, cover and promotional photo. Capsule (band)
is a Japanese electronica band consisting of producer Yasutaka Nakata and vocalist Toshiko Koshijima. Career Capsule formed in November 1997, after Yasutaka Nakata and Toshiko Koshijima met at the Teens' Music Festival in the Hokuriku area convention when they were both 17 years old. Their first single was "Sakura", released in March 2001 on Yamaha Music Communications. Their first album, ''High Collar Girl'', was significantly different from their later works in that it did not involve nearly as much use of synthesizers or contain futuristic/electronic sounds. Capsule's style in albums up to ''L.D.K. Lounge Designers Killer'' (2005) was frequently referred to as "neo-Shibuya-kei" due to their stylistic similarities, both aesthetically and musically, to acts from the Shibuya-kei movement of the 1990s, most notably Pizzicato Five. Toshiko Koshijima
is a Japanese singer. Along with composer, record producer and DJ Yasutaka Nakata, she is the lead vocalist of the electronica band Capsule, which she formed in 1997 with Nakata when they were both 17. Their formal debut came in 2001 with the release of the single "Sakura A cherry blossom, also known as Japanese cherry or sakura, is a flower of many trees of Prunus, genus ''Prunus'' or Prunus subg. , established in 1999, is the holding company at the head of a Japanese corporate group that supplies statistics and information on music and the music industry in Japan and Western music. It started as, which was founded by Sōkō Koike in November 1967 and became known for its music charts. Oricon Inc. was originally set up as a subsidiary of Original Confidence and took over the latter's Oricon record charts in April 2002. M-flo
is a Japanese hip hop group consisting of record producer DJ Taku Takahashi, Verbal and Lisa. Lisa left the group in 2002 to pursue a solo career and the remaining members then started the M-Flo Loves... project working different vocalists for each song over three albums, including the likes of Namie Amuro, Bonnie Pink, Koda Kumi and BoA. Their mainstream success and critical acclaim established them as the most iconic and influential hip-hop production team in Japan with success throughout Asia. Verbal (born August 21, 1975) is a Japanese rapper, music video director and record producer who debuted in 1998 as a member of the hip hop group M-Flo. He is a third generation Zainichi Korean and a notable representative of Zainichi Korean music in Japan. M-Flo's hits in the early 2000s, such as "How You Like Me Now?" and "Come Again" led to Verbal rapping and producing a wide range of acts in Japan such as Crystal Kay, BoA, Kumi Koda and Namie Amuro. ''Appleseed Alpha'' (also styled as ''Appleseed α'') is a computer-animated military science fiction cyberpunk film. The English version's voice cast includes Luci Christian (Deunan Knute), David Matranga (Briareos) and Wendel Calvert (Two Horns). It was announced on February 11, 2014, that Sony Pictures Worldwide and Lucent Pictures Entertainment would making a new CG-animated film. Big Room House
Big room house or simply big room is a fusion subgenre of house music (notably progressive house and electro house) that gained popularity in the early 2010s. Characterized by its simple instrumentation yet complex structure, big room house soon evolutionized the EDM scene into multiple subgenres that we know today. Although the term "big room" started appearing in news articles circa 2007, the current state of this subgenre emerged around 2010—12 and was popularized by songs such as " Epic" and "Cannonball".
