James Watton
James Augustus Watton (1915–1995) was a Canadian Anglican bishop in the second half of the 20th century. Life and career Watton was born on 23 October 1915, educated at the University of Western Ontario and ordained in 1939. He held curacies at Lucknow, Ontario and Merlin, after which he was the incumbent of Plympton–Wyoming. After time at Geraldton, Kirkland Lake and Timmins, he became Dean of Moosonee in 1955. In 1957, he became Rector of St John's Port Hope and in 1958 of St Michael and All Angels, Toronto. In 1963, he became the Bishop of Moosonee, a position he held until 1979, for the last five years of which he was also Metropolitan of Ontario The Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario is one of four ecclesiastical provinces in the Anglican Church of Canada. The Barracks, Brecon
The Barracks, Watton is a military installation in Brecon in Wales. History The original barracks, which were constructed of red brick, were built at the Watton in 1805 and then extended in 1813.Tones, p. 126 In 1873, as part of the Cardwell Reforms (which encouraged the localisation of British military forces), the barracks became the depot for the two battalions of the 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot, which began recruiting throughout South Wales. In the mid-1870s, troops from the barracks were despatched to the Cape Colony. During January 1879, the 24th Regiment became famed for its role at two momentous battles of the Anglo-Zulu War – Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift. That same year, a keep, for the storage of arms and ammunition, was added to the barracks. Following the Childers Reforms, on 1 July 1881, the 24th Regiment was renamed the South Wales Borderers. Laura Watton (born 2 August 1979) is a semi-professional UK manga artist and founding member of Sweatdrop Studios. Watton was a member since its inception until 2010, announcing the decision to create works under 'Pinkapplejam.com'. She self-publishes her series ''Biomecha''. Currently residing in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England Laura creates freelance illustrations. Jim Watton
James Watton (born 1 November 1936) is an English former footballer who played as a half-back. He made 129 league appearances in a six-year career in the Football League. He began his career with English non-league side Bromsgrove Rovers and Dutch club De Graafschap, before joining Port Vale in September 1962. He was allowed to move onto Doncaster Rovers in July 1964. He helped "Donny" to the Fourth Division title in 1965–66, before he left the club for non-league side Burton Albion in 1968. Career Watton played for Bromsgrove Rovers and Dutch side De Graafschap, before joining Norman Low's Port Vale in September 1962. He made his debut in a 1–0 win at Colchester United on 10 September 1962, but only made four further Third Division appearances that season. He did not appear under new boss Freddie Steele in the 1963–64 season, and left Vale Park for Doncaster Rovers in July 1964.
