Irvinebank State School is a heritage-listed state school at High Street, Irvinebank, Queensland, Irvinebank, Shire of Mareeba, Queensland, Australia. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 1 May 2015. History Irvinebank State School opened in 1889 in the small private mining town of Irvinebank. As the town prospered, the teaching building (1889) was extended in 1899 and 1906, and other structures and landscape elements were built, including a playshed (1891). The town declined after 1907. Rocky Bluff Battery and Township is a heritage-listed former mining town at Watsonville, Shire of Mareeba, Queensland, Australia. It was built from 1902 to . It is also known as Stannary Hills Mill. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 13 December 2002. History Tin was discovered in the Rocky Bluff district in 1883 but initially little development occurred. Extensive leases were acquired over the area by a South Australian company, the North Queensland Tin Mining Corporation, in 1900. The company passed the properties and fixed assets to the Stannary Hills Mines and Tramway Company Limited, an Adelaide-based company with a nominated capital of £650,000. This company took advantage of the tramway clause in the Mining Act of 1898 and commenced surveys for a narrow gauge tramway from Boonmoo, along Eureka Creek to Stannary Hills, thence over the ridge to a terminus at Watsonville. Petford is a rural locality in the Shire of Mareeba, Queensland, Australia. In the , Petford had a population of 32 people. Geography ''Emu Creek'' flows through from east to north, where it joins the ''Walsh River'' as it forms part of the northern boundary. ''California Creek'', a tributary of the '' Tate River'', forms much of the southern boundary. Two other tributaries of the ''Tate River'', ''Oaky Creek'' and ''Martin Creek'', rise in the locality. Burke Developmental Road
The Burke Developmental Road is a Queensland (Australia) developmental road. It links Cloncurry and Normanton in a south–north direction, then turns to the north-east north of Normanton for before turning south-east till Dimbulah, where it becomes the Mareeba Dimbulah Road. The road crosses the Gilbert River. This bridge was named after two of the region's indigenous leaders, Lily and Jubilee Slattery. A major unsealed section begins about north of Normanton and continues until Chillagoe. As of 2014, some sections totaling about are unsealed between Chillagoe and Dimbulah.
