Waterworks Road
Waterworks Road is an arterial road in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is currently signed as State Route 31 for its entire length. Waterworks Road transports traffic between the Brisbane central business district and western suburbs such as Red Hill, Ashgrove and The Gap. History Waterworks Road was built on a Turrbal pathway that led to Mount Coot-tha – a place of the honey-bee Dreaming. It was surveyed and named in 1864 as a direct route to the site of the Enoggera Dam, which was built from 1864 to 1866. A small Catholic Church was built on Waterworks Road in 1921, and St Finbarr’s Catholic primary school in 1925. The tram line was extended from Red Hill to Jubilee Terrace in 1924, and then to Coopers Camp Road in 1935. This line operated continuously until it was closed in 1969. Geography Ashgrove is located approximately by road north-west of the Brisbane GPO. Bardon is a western suburb of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located approximately north-west of the Brisbane CBD. Bardon is a leafy residential suburb, much of which nestles into the foothills of Mount Coot-tha. In the , Bardon had a population of 9,500 people. It includes the neighbourhood of Rainworth. Queensland Heritage Act 1992
The ''Queensland Heritage Act 1992'' is an act of the Parliament of Queensland that establishes a legislative framework for registration protection of places of local and statewide significance. The Act established the Queensland Heritage Council and formalised the Queensland Heritage Register. In September 2008, the Act was modified to allow the Queensland Government to compel owners to maintain their heritage property or else be fined up to $75,000. The change was motivated by concerns that the heritage-listed Keating residence in Indooroopilly, Brisbane was being inadequately maintained by its owners. Left unoccupied, the building had been neglected and needed urgent maintenance, which was not being undertaken despite repeated requests. Taylor Range
The Taylor Range or Herbert Taylor Range is a mountain range on the western edge of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was first named The Glenmorrison Range by John Oxley during his exploration of the area in January 1824. In 1828, the colonial botanist Charles Fraser, whilst looking at the range from the Ipswich area, noted the bearings as Sir Herbert Taylor’s Range from which the current name derived. The range is an eastern spur at the southern end of the D'Aguilar Range. The section of the range north of Enoggera Creek (sometimes called the Enoggera side of the range) includes the Keperra Bushland, Enoggera Military Area and the Ashgrove Golf Club golf course.
