Enoggera Reservoir is an outer north-western suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Enoggera Reservoir had a population of 25 people. Geography The suburbs borders Moreton Bay Region to the north. It contains the neighbourhood of Peewee Bend (). History The Enoggera Reservoir suburb is named after the Enoggera Dam. The name ''Enoggera'' is a corruption of the Yuggera word ''yauar-ngari'' meaning '' corroboree ground''. The suburb was officially named and bounded on 15 December 1990. As of 12 February 2011, sufficient water inflows returned the reservoir to usable levels, and water is now used to supply neighbouring suburbs. Prior to this the reservoir levels were insufficient for water supply, primarily due to the drought which was experienced by South-East Queensland prior to the January 2011 floods. Highvale is a rural residential locality in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Highvale had a population of 1,766 people. Geography The area is the headwaters of the South Pine River. In the north and west of the locality the elevation rises to heights greater than 500 m above sea level along the D'Aguilar Range. Highvale is positioned at the base of Mount Nebo and Mount Glorious. The land use is a mix of rural residential living and grazing on native vegetation. Most of the land on the steep slopes of the D'Aguilar Range is not used. Slab Hut Farm
Slab Hut Farm is a heritage-listed farm at 847 Mt Nebo Road, Enoggera Reservoir, Queensland, Enoggera Reservoir, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was built from 1890s to 1890s. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992. History The present slab structures mostly date from the 1890s, but the site was occupied from the 1870s. In 1873 English immigrant George Powers Remfry selected 80 acres (32 hectares) of farmland at Mount Nebo (portion 844, parish of Enoggera, Queensland, Enoggera). An 1873 survey plan shows a two-roomed store already on the site, erected close to the main road. This store probably serviced timbergetters and goldminers who were working the Enoggera area in the 1860s and 1870s. Yuggera Language
Turrbal is an Aboriginal Australian language of Queensland. It is the language of the Turrbal people, who are the traditional owners and custodians of Brisbane. The Turrbal Association uses the Turrbal spelling and prefer this over other spellings of Turrbal such as Turubul, Turrubal, Turrabul, Toorbal, and Tarabul. The four dialects listed in Dixon (2002) are sometimes seen as separate Durubalic languages, especially Jandai and Nunukul; Yagara, Yugarabul, and Turrbul proper are more likely to be considered dialects. Enoggera Dam
The Enoggera Dam is a heritage-listed dam, which is located within the outer, western suburb of Enoggera Reservoir, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. History The Enoggera Dam was constructed in 1866, on the upper reach of Breakfast Creek (which section was later renamed Enoggera Creek). It was the first major dam built in Queensland and the second major dam built in Australia (the first major dam, Yan Yean Reservoir having been built in Victoria in 1850). It is rare as one of the few remaining examples in Queensland of an intact and functioning reservoir and treatment plant from this period in time.
