Warwickshire Women Cricket Team
The Warwickshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Warwickshire. They play their home games at Edgbaston Foundation Sports Ground, Birmingham, and are captained by Marie Kelly. In 2019, they won the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Central Sparks. History 1937–2000: Early History Warwickshire Women played their first recorded match in 1937, against Australia, which they lost by 7 wickets. Marie Kelly
Marie Kelly (born 9 February 1996) is an English cricketer who is currently the captain of Warwickshire, as well as playing for The Blaze, Northern Superchargers and Trinbago Knight Riders. She plays primarily as a right-handed batter. She led Warwickshire to the 2019 Women's Twenty20 Cup title, and was the leading run-scorer in Division 1 that year. She previously played for Southern Vipers, Central Sparks, Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets. Early life Kelly was born on 9 February 1996 in Birmingham, West Midlands. She has a degree in Sports Science from Loughborough University. Her twin sister, Sian, played for Warwickshire between 2011 and 2017. 2012 Women's County Championship
The 2012 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 16th cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from May to September and saw 33 county teams and teams representing Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions. Kent Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division, beating Essex in the division final. The Championship was Kent's fifth title, and their second in two seasons. Competition format Teams played matches within a series of divisions with the winners of the top division being crowned County Champions. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The championship worked on a points system, with placings decided by average points of completed games. Fast bowling (also referred to as pace bowling) is one of two main approaches to bowling in the sport of cricket, the other being spin bowling. Evelyn Jones (born 8 August 1992) is an English cricketer who currently captains Central Sparks, as well as playing for Warwickshire and Birmingham Phoenix. She plays primarily as a left-handed opening batter, as well as bowling left-arm medium. She has previously played for Shropshire, Staffordshire and Lancashire, as well as for Loughborough Lightning and Lancashire Thunder in the Women's Cricket Super League, New Zealand side Canterbury Magicians and Women's Big Bash League team Melbourne Renegades. The Shropshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Shropshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Ellesmere College Ground, Ellesmere and are captained by Lara Jones. Shropshire withdrew from the Women's County Championship after the 2018 season, have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. West Midlands Regional Cup
The West Midlands Regional Cup is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. Organised by the Central Sparks regional team, the tournament involves four teams based in or near the West Midlands, with its first edition taking place in 2022. Staffordshire, Wales, Warwickshire and Worcestershire are the four teams competing, with Warwickshire also playing "in a consortium" with Shropshire. Anisha Anil Patel (born 17 August 1995) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Warwickshire and Central Sparks. She plays as a right-arm leg break bowler. The Somerset Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English ceremonial county of Somerset. They play their home games at various grounds across Somerset, most often in Taunton, and are captained by Sophie Luff. Somerset consistently competed in either Division 1 or Division 2 of the Women's County Championship, and won Division 2 of the Women's Twenty20 Cup in 2019. 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup
The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2022 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 13th edition of the Women's Twenty20 Cup, an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition. It took place in April and May 2022, with 35 teams taking part, organised into eight regional groups. There was no overall winner, with Lancashire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Suffolk, Leicestershire and Rutland, Sussex, Middlesex and Devon winning their individual groups. The 2016 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2016 NatWest Women's Twenty20 Cup was the 8th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament.
