Warlocks (band)
Warlocks are a Norwegian Hip-hop trio formed in 1992. The group has also been heavily involved in the graffiti and b-boy scene in Oslo. The trio consists of producer Hawk and the rappers Tech Rock (André Eriksen) and Karma (Kevin Eriksen), who are twins. Warlocks released their debut album, ''Lyrical Marksmen'', on a local independent label ( Records) in 1995, and the street buzz resulted in a contract with Norway's leading rap label Tee Productions. History Tee Productions owner Tommy Tee recorded and co-produced Warlocks’ second album ''Top Notch'', and the first single off the album entered at number 3 on the Norwegian single chart. The album received a Norwegian Grammy nomination in 1997. The love from streets and the critical acclaim, combined with several negative tabloid newspaper stories about the group's involvement in graffiti, helped Warlocks become the best-selling rap act in Norway ever. André Eriksen
André Eriksen (born 22 October 1975) is a Norwegian multi-platform artist with a career as an actor, rapper, and graffiti artist. He is best known as one of the lead vocalists in the Norwegian rap group Warlocks, which had commercial success in Scandinavia in the 1990s. He is considered a pioneer of Norwegian hip hop. Early life Eriksen grew up in Stovner bydel, a low income neighborhood in Oslo with a 53% immigrant population. He dropped out of school as a teenager and started making music and painting graffiti with friends in his neighborhood. Both his music and art were anti-establishment and Eriksen was arrested several times for graffiti. In 1995 he was in police custody when his first album with the band Warlocks was released. The incident caught media attention and made Eriksen a public figure. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Diaz (rapper)
Diaz (full name Andres Rafael Diaz) is a rapper from Jessheim, Norway, born 26 July 1976. His father, Andres Rafael Diaz Rosa, is Spanish and his mother, Inger, is Norwegian. He has released three solo albums: ''2050'',''Velkommen Hjem, Andres'' (Welcome Home, Andres) and ''Jessheimfanden'', all paying homage to his hometown of Jessheim, which lies some 40 km N/NE of Norway's capital, Oslo, close to the city's airport, Gardermoen. ''2050'' is the postal code for Jessheim. ''Velkommen Hjem, Andres'' is a reference to the Norwegian film ''Velkommen Hjem, Anders'' which was filmed in 1985 in Jessheim with a cast of local actors. Opaque (rapper)
Morten Aasdahl Eliassen (born 25 September 1976), also known as stage name Opaque or the alias Mae, is a Norwegian rapper from Furuset in Oslo. He is signed to Tommy Tee's record label Tee Productions, and released the album Gourmet Garbage in 2001. In 2011 he appeared under the alias Mae (Morten Aasdahl Eliassen) on Jesse Jones debut album ''12 blokker, 1 vei inn''. History Opaque was in the group Valuable Scamps which he established with Small MC, Kenny Bong and DJ Daniel Gude. After a few years the group disbanded, and he instead became associated with Tommy Tee's then newly established label Tee Productions. ''Hip Hop Connection'' (''HHC'') was the longest running monthly periodical devoted entirely to hip hop culture. It was described by rapper Chuck D as "the best magazine in the world".
