Ancash Region
Ancash ( qu, Anqash; es, Áncash ) is a department and region in northern Peru. It is bordered by the departments of La Libertad on the north, Huánuco and Pasco on the east, Lima on the south, and the Pacific Ocean on the west. Its capital is the city of Huaraz, and its largest city and port is Chimbote. The name of the region originates from the Quechua word ('light, of little weight'), from ('blue') or from ('eagle'). Tinya

Pinkillo
A pinkillu, pinkuyllu or pinqullu (Quechua or Aymara, Hispanicized spellings ''pincollo, pincuyllo, pingullo, pinquillo'', also ''pinkillo, pinkiyo, pinkullo, pinkuyo'') is a flute found throughout the Andes, used primarily in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. It is usually played with one hand, leaving the other one free to accompany oneself on a drum like the ''tinya''. It is used in a variety of public festivals and other kinds of communal ceremonies. Construction and materials The ''pinkillu'' can measure in length up to 1 meter 20 cm, and has six finger holes. It is most commonly made out of cane, but can be made out of bamboo, bone, or tree branches as well. In Peru and Bolivia, sheep and llama nerves are used to tie the instrument together. Among the different kinds there are ''ch'aka pinkillu'' (bone flute), ''qina qina pinkillu'' (cane flute) and ''tupa pinkillu'' (made out of thicker ''tuquru'' cane).
