Warfield Lectures
The Warfield Lectures are named in honor of Annie Kinkead Warfield, wife of Benjamin Breckinridge Warfield professor of theology at the Princeton Theological Seminary from 1887 to 1921. Benjamin Breckinridge Warfield
Benjamin Breckinridge Warfield (November 5, 1851 – February 16, 1921) was professor of theology at Princeton Seminary from 1887 to 1921. He served as the last principal of the Princeton Theological Seminary from 1886 to 1902. After the death of Warfield in office, Francis Landey Patton took over the functions of the office as the first president of seminary. Some conservative presbyterianism, Presbyterians consider him to be the last of the great Princeton theologians before the split in 1929 that formed Westminster Theological Seminary and the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Shirley Guthrie
Shirley C. Guthrie Jr. (9 October 1927 – 23 October 2004) was a minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and J.B. Green Professor of Systematic Theology at Columbia Theological Seminary for nearly 40 years. He was well known for his book, ''Christian Doctrine'', which was originally written for an Adult Sunday School Book in the old PCUS Covenant life curriculum. Career Guthrie was born in Texas as the son of a Presbyterian minister. He studied first at Princeton Theological Seminary, and earned his doctorate at the University of Basel, where Karl Barth directed his PhD dissertation on Reinhold Niebuhr. He briefly served as the minister of the Presbyterian Church in Rusk, Texas. Christians () are people who follow or adhere to Christianity, a monotheistic Abrahamic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Sarah Coakley
Sarah Anne Coakley (born 1951) is an English Anglican priest, systematic theologian and philosopher of religion with interdisciplinary interests. She is an honorary professor at the Logos Institute, the University of St Andrews, after she stepped down as Norris–Hulse Professor of Divinity (2007–2018) at the University of Cambridge. She is also a visiting professorial fellow at the Australian Catholic University, both in Melbourne and Rome. David Fergusson (theologian)
David Alexander Syme Fergusson (born 3 August 1956) is a Scottish theologian and Presbyterian minister. Since 2021, he has been Regius Professor of Divinity at the University of Cambridge. Early life and education Fergusson was born on 3 August 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland. He studied philosophy at the University of Glasgow, graduating with an undergraduate Master of Arts (MA Hons) degree in 1977. Kathryn Tanner
Kathryn Eileen Tanner (born 1957) is an American theologian who serves as Frederick Marquand Professor of Systematic Theology at Yale Divinity School. Biography Born on March 29, 1957, Tanner earned her BA, MA, MPhil, and PhD degrees from Yale University. Her career began at Yale by teaching for the department of religious studies. She later moved to the University of Chicago where she served as the Dorothy Grant Maclear Professor of Theology. Afterwards, she returned to teach at her alma mater. Marilyn McCord Adams (October 12, 1943–March 22, 2017) was an American philosopher and Episcopal priest. John Polkinghorne
John Charlton Polkinghorne (16 October 1930 – 9 March 2021) was an English theoretical physicist, theologian, and Anglican priest.
