Ed Warby
Edward R. Warby (born 7 March 1968) is a Dutch musician, best known as the drummer for death metal band Gorefest and progressive rock/metal project Ayreon. He also appeared in the band Agressor in 1982 and joined the Eindhoven-based metal band Elegy in 1987. Warby moved to Gorefest in 1992, where he replaced the former drummer just before the recording sessions of "False", he had to learn all themes and develop his work in just two weeks, which he managed to achieve in a matter so fast that producer Colin Richardson nicknamed him ''Fast Eddy''. After Gorefest split up in 1999, he took part in the re-united Gorefest in 2004. In 1998, Arjen Anthony Lucassen asked Warby to perform on his album ''Into the Electric Castle'', because Arjen was impressed with Warby's works with Gorefest. Ken Warby
Ken Warby (born 9 May 1939) is an Australian motorboat racer, who currently holds the water speed record of , set on Blowering Dam on 8 October 1978. As a child, Warby's hero was Donald Campbell, who died attempting to break the record in 1967. The ''Spirit of Australia'' Warby designed the hull of his record-breaking boat, '' Spirit of Australia'', himself and built it in his backyard. He started the project as a Makita salesman who happened to team up with two Leading aircraftmen at RAAF Base Richmond in the early 1970s. Warby bought three military surplus Westinghouse jet engines at auction for only $265. It was not in working order, but Crandall and Cox refurbished it. The ''Spirit'' was covered with a canvas tarpaulin when it rained and was made of wood and fibreglass. On 20 November 1977, he set a new world water speed record of , breaking the record of Lee Taylor by a little over . Sir Mark David John Warby PC (born 10 October 1958), styled The Rt Hon. Lord Justice Warby, is a Lord Justice of Appeal. Career He was educated at Bristol Grammar School and St John's College, Oxford. He was called to the bar at Gray's Inn in 1981, and appointed Queen's Counsel in 2002. He was a Recorder of the Crown Court (Midland Circuit) from 2009 to 2014. He was selected to present a seminar on media law to the Leveson Inquiry Panel in 2011. In 2013, he was appointed a Deputy High Court Judged and he became a judge of the High Court of Justice (Queen's Bench Division) on 11 June 2014. Following his appointment to the High Court he was awarded the customary knighthood. In March 2017 he was appointed Judge in Charge of the Media and Communications List. Adrian Warburton
Adrian "Warby" Warburton, (10 March 1918 – 12 April 1944) was a Royal Air Force (RAF) Aviator, pilot and flying ace of the Second World War. He became legendary in the RAF for his role in the defence of Siege of Malta (1940), Malta and was described by the then Air Officer Commanding in Chief Middle East, Air Marshal Arthur Tedder, 1st Baron Tedder, Sir Arthur Tedder, as "the most important pilot in the RAF". Warburton was also awarded a United States DFC. Described as 'Six-medal Warburton', all of Warby's gallantry awards were earned while operating from Malta. He remains the most highly decorated RAF photo-reconnaissance pilot of all time. His life and work has been depicted in the books ''Warburton's War'' by Tony Spooner, and ''Malta's Greater Siege & Adrian Warburton DSO* DFC** DFC (USA)'' by Paul McDonald. Warby-Ovens National Park
The Warby-Ovens National Park is a national park located on the lands of the Bangerang clan of the Yorta Yorta Nation in the Hume region of Victoria, Australia near Killawara. The national park is situated approximately west of Wangaratta and northeast of Melbourne. The park draws its name from the Warby Ranges, which are named in honour of Ben Warby, a pastoralist who settled in the area in 1844, and the Ovens River. Initially reserved as a state park in 1978, the national park was declared in June 2010. Parts of the national park are contained within the Warby–Chiltern Box–Ironbark Important Bird Area because of its importance for the conservation of Box-Ironbark forest ecosystems and several species of threatened woodland birds dependent on them. Warby Range State Park
Warby Range State Park was a Victorian state park just north of Glenrowan. In 2010 the park became part of the newly declared Warby-Ovens National Park. It is in area, and named after Ben Warby, a pastoralist who settled in the area in 1844. There are two basic campgrounds, and many other sites for true bush camping. History The 400 m rocky escarpments are believed to have been used by the Kelly gang as a lookout for robbing wagons loaded with gold, heading to Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay.
