Ed Warby
Edward R. Warby (born 7 March 1968) is a Dutch musician, best known as the drummer for death metal band Gorefest and progressive rock/metal project Ayreon. He also appeared in the band Agressor in 1982 and joined the Eindhoven-based metal band Elegy in 1987. Warby moved to Gorefest in 1992, where he replaced the former drummer just before the recording sessions of "False", he had to learn all themes and develop his work in just two weeks, which he managed to achieve in a matter so fast that producer Colin Richardson nicknamed him ''Fast Eddy''. After Gorefest split up in 1999, he took part in the re-united Gorefest in 2004. In 1998, Arjen Anthony Lucassen asked Warby to perform on his album ''Into the Electric Castle'', because Arjen was impressed with Warby's works with Gorefest. Ribspreader
Ribspreader is a Swedish death metal band. History Ribspreader was formed in January 2003 by Rogga Johansson and Andreas Karlsson, both also of Paganizer. The band's debut album featured Swedish musician and producer Dan Swanö on drums and lead guitar. Johansson is a prolific musician within the death metal genre, and Ribspreader's 2018 album ''The Van Murders: Part 2'' is considered by some to be one of his more versatile and melodic projects, making it more accessible to listeners who are not strictly fans of the genre. Critical praise for 2019's ''Crawl and Slither'' was also high, with the album leading some to claim Ribspreader as Johansson's best band. A death growl, or simply growl, is an extended vocal technique usually employed in extreme styles of music, particularly in death metal and other extreme subgenres of heavy metal music. After Forever
After Forever was a Dutch symphonic metal band with strong progressive metal influences. The band relied on the use of both soprano vocals and death growls. In February 2009, it was announced that After Forever had disbanded. Singer Floor Jansen and keyboardist Joost van den Broek both collaborated again in ReVamp and Star One, before Jansen eventually joined Nightwish as lead singer in 2013. Former rhythm guitarist Mark Jansen founded Epica in 2002 after his departure from After Forever and, in 2010, founded MaYaN, which included former After Forever members Sander Gommans and Jack Driessen. Gothic Metal
Gothic metal (or goth metal) is a fusion genre combining the aggression of heavy metal with the dark atmospheres of gothic rock. The music of gothic metal is diverse with bands known to adopt the gothic approach to different styles of heavy metal music. The genre originated during the early 1990s in the United Kingdom originally as an outgrowth of death-doom, a fusion of death metal and doom metal. Lyrics are generally dark and introspective with inspiration from gothic fiction as well as personal experiences. Pioneers of gothic metal include Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and Anathema, all from the north of England. Love Like Blood was a German gothic rock band. The band's name comes from the song of the same name by English post-punk band Killing Joke. Biography Its nucleus consists of the Eysel brothers Yorck (vocals, lyrics) and Gunnar ( bass). The band was active from 1989 to 2001 and is now on (indefinite) hiatus. Its early sound reminisces the style of Fields of the Nephilim. They made their breakthrough with the 1992 album ''An Irony of Fate'', which marked the debut of English guitarist Mark Wheeler. Krezip
Krezip is a Dutch pop, rock, and alternative music band from Tilburg, Netherlands, formed in 1997. Krezip's members formed a cover band while in the midst of highschool, and were still remarkably young when they broke through, playing all original songs, at the nationally televised Pinkpop festival, in 2000. The band has since had several successful albums and numerous hit singles in the Netherlands, as well as live success, playing at festivals in Belgium and Germany. The band has four consistent core members, centered around front woman, lead singer and song writer Jacqueline Govaert. ''Lost in the New Real'' (also referred to as ''Arjen Anthony Lucassen's Lost in the New Real'') is the second solo studio album by Dutch songwriter, producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen, released on 23 April 2012. It is Lucassen's first solo album since 1993's '' Pools of Sorrow, Waves of Joy'', released 18 years earlier under the name Anthony, before he reached fame with his progressive metal/ rock opera project Ayreon. ''Actual Fantasy'' is an album released in 1996 by Dutch multi-instrumentalist Arjen A. Lucassen and is the second album of his Ayreon project. It is the only Ayreon release that does not feature a single overarching story concept, but instead draws on science fiction and fantasy films for inspiration, as well as stories written by Arjen himself. In 2004, Arjen moved to a new record label, Inside Out Germany. With this move came re-issues of all previous Ayreon releases, including ''Actual Fantasy''. ''Universal Migrator Part 1: The Dream Sequencer'' (sometimes simply referred as ''The Dream Sequencer'') is a progressive rock album released in 2000 by Dutch multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Arjen Lucassen, and is the fourth album of his Ayreon project. ''The Dream Sequencer'' features a musical style quite disparate from its counterpart '' Flight of the Migrator'', telling the story of a trip through time from a variety of perspectives, it features a prog-infused atmospheric feeling, with a softer and more melodic sound than that of ''Flight of the Migrator''. Both albums were released simultaneously, sold well and were received positively.
