War Machine (film)
''War Machine'' is a 2017 American satirical war comedy film directed and written by David Michôd and starring Brad Pitt, Anthony Michael Hall, Anthony Hayes, Topher Grace, Will Poulter, Tilda Swinton, and Ben Kingsley. Based on the nonfiction book '' The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan'' by Michael Hastings, it is a fictionalized version of the events in the book based on United States Army General Stanley McChrystal. The film was released on Netflix on May 26, 2017. David Michôd
David Michôd ( ; born 30 November 1972) is an Australian film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He is best known for directing the critically acclaimed crime drama '' Animal Kingdom'' (2010) and dystopian drama '' The Rover'' (2014). He also co-wrote '' Hesher'' (2010). Education and early career Michôd was educated at Sydney Grammar School before moving to Melbourne to study arts at the University of Melbourne. After working for the Victorian Department of Education he decided to attend film school while in his mid-20s. He later served as editor of ''Inside Film'' magazine, serving in the role between 2003 and 2006.
