Background The song was released as a single, along with accompanying music video, on August 25, 2016, through the official channel of YouTube, Hopeless Records. It is the first single from the band since the return of guitarist Dave Baksh in 2015 and the departure of former drummer Steve Jocz, who left the group in 2013. Sum 41 is a Canadian rock band from Ajax, Ontario. Originally called Kaspir, the band was formed in 1996 and currently consists of Deryck Whibley (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards), Dave Baksh (lead guitar, backing vocals), Jason "Cone" McCaslin (bass, backing vocals), Tom Thacker (guitars, keyboards, backing vocals), and Frank Zummo (drums, percussion, occasional backing vocals). Steve Jocz (born 23 July 1981) is a Canadian musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the former drummer for the Canadian rock band Sum 41. Early life Jocz formed Sum 41 in 1996 alongside Deryck Whibley. Jocz graduated from Exeter High School in 1999. Djay Brawner (born June 21, 1981) is an American director of music videos, film, and television. Career In 2000, after taking film classes at De Anza College, he moved Orange, California to begin his education at Chapman University's film school. While studying there, he produced and directed a number of films and soon after went on to become a director Generator, a music video production company started by Derek Dale. During that time he filmed a number of upcoming bands, many of which have been featured on MTV, MTV2, and Fuse. His first commissioned music video was for Emery in 2004. Frank C. Zummo is an American musician, best known as the drummer for rock bands Sum 41 and Street Drum Corps. Career Zummo is one of the founding members of Street Drum Corps. Dave Baksh (born 26 July 1980) also known by his stage name Dave Brownsound, is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter best known as one of the guitarists of rock band Sum 41. Baksh quit Sum 41 in 2006 (not counting a guest appearance on stage in 2008) to pursue his own career in his heavy metal/reggae project Brown Brigade. He rejoined Sum 41 in 2015 and has released two subsequent studio albums with the band. ''13 Voices'' is the sixth studio album by Canadian Rock music, rock band Sum 41, released on October 7, 2016. It is the first Sum 41 album to be released through independent label Hopeless Records after the band fulfilled their contract with major label Island Records. It is also Sum 41's first album to feature drummer Frank Zummo, who replaced original drummer Steve Jocz, and their first album to feature guitarist Tom Thacker (musician), Tom Thacker.
