Wapiti is an unincorporated area, unincorporated community in Park County, Wyoming, Park County, Wyoming, United States. It is situated along the North Fork of the Shoshone River in Shoshone National Forest, between Cody, Wyoming, Cody and the eastern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The location is named after the Cree Indian word for elk. The name wapiti is also used exclusively for the descendants of elk introduced to New Zealand by President Roosevelt in 1905. It is the location of the Wapiti Ranger Station, a U.S. National Historic Landmark. It has a post office with the ZIP code 82450. Yellowstone National Park

Cold Semi-arid Climate
A semi-arid climate, semi-desert climate, or steppe climate is a dry climate sub-type. The Köppen climate classification is one of the most widely used climate classification systems. It was first published by German-Russian climatologist Wladimir Köppen (1846–1940) in 1884, with several later modifications by Köppen, notably in 1918 and 1936. Winchester Mystery House
The Winchester Mystery House is a mansion in San Jose, California, that was once the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of firearms magnate William Wirt Winchester. The house became a tourist attraction nine months after Winchester's death in 1922. The Victorian and Gothic style mansion is renowned for its size and its architectural curiosities. Smith Mansion (Wyoming)
The Smith Mansion, also known as the Smith Family Cabin, is a large, prominent structure standing at roughly 75 ft (22.9 m) in the Wapiti Valley in Wapiti, Wyoming. The mansion can be easily spotted if traveling down the North Fork Highway towards Yellowstone National Park, due to its towering, dark and intimidating architectural style. It takes the form of a large log tower, with sections seemingly tacked on haphazardly, although the tower is very stable. Wapiti Ranger Station
Wapiti Ranger Station is the oldest United States Forest Service ranger station in the United States. The station is in Shoshone National Forest west of Cody, Wyoming, and has been used continuously since it was built in 1903. On May 23, 1963, Wapiti Ranger Station was designated as a National Historic Landmark, and placed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 15, 1966.
