Wang Zheng (newsreader)
Wang Zheng (; pinyin: Wáng Zhēng) is a Singaporean-based Chinese News Anchor for Hello Singapore, News Tonight and Singapore Today. Career Wang is a Mediacorp Channel 8's news presenter and journalist since March 2005. She left Mediacorp Channel 8 in July 2012 and joined Channel NewsAsia as a Shanghai correspondent till 2013. Currently, Wang has gone back to Mediacorp Channel 8 to be a news presenter for News 8 at One (1点新闻), Hello Singapore (狮城有约), Singapore Today (狮城6点半). She is also a News Tonight (晚间新闻), MediaCorp Channel 8 and MediaCorp Channel U news presenter. Also, Wang is the co-host of Mediacorp Channel U's Current Affairs Program - World This Week (世界一周) and Channel 8 News & Current Affairs Program - 流行挖哇WOW host. Star Awards 2007 () was a television award ceremony held in Singapore. It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. It was the first ''Star Awards'' ceremony to be broadcast in two weeks putting emphasis on two programmes; the first ceremony, broadcast on 9 December 2007, titled 红星大奖之戏剧情牵25 (lit. ''Star Awards 25th Drama Anniversary''), commentating 25 years of drama in the Television in Singapore (the ceremony would later become a legacy of having a separate presentation of Professional and Technical awards, which would not happen until ''Star Awards 2010''). Star Awards
The Star Awards (Chinese: 红星大奖) are awards for artistic and technical merit in the media organisation Mediacorp of Singapore where Mediacorp recognises entertainers under their employment for outstanding performances of the year. The awards are given annually in a ceremony. The various category winners are awarded a trophy, with initial designs featuring various star shapes. The star was subsequently removed and the trophy is designed as a S shaped column, depicting the star. History The 1st Star Awards presentation was held on 26 February 1994, took place at the Caldecott Broadcast Centre, MediaCorp TV Theatre with an audience of about 500 people. There have no other pre-show and post-awards ceremony held in that year. The Asian Television Awards (launched in 1996), is an appreciation to recognize and reward programming and production excellence in the Asian television industry.
