Wang Wei (; 25 December 1937 – 26 January 2023) was a Chinese scientist specializing in semiconductor. Biography Wang was born in Wen'an County, Hebei, on 25 December 1937. After graduating from the Department of Physics, Peking University in 1960, he was despatched to the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Personal life and death Wang married Wu Dexin, who is also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Wand died on 26 January 2023, at the age of 85. Hebei or , (; alternately Hopeh) is a northern province of China. Hebei is China's sixth most populous province, with over 75 million people. Shijiazhuang is the capital city. The Provisional Government of the Republic of China (, or ja, Chūka Minkoku Rinji Seifu) was a Chinese puppet state of the Empire of Japan that existed from 1937 to 1940 during the Second Sino-Japanese War. It had been formed largely on the initiative of Imperial Japanese Army commanders in north China, before securing approval from Japanese government authorities in Tokyo. Thus the Provisional Government had nominal authority in Japanese occupied zones in north China, while to the south the Central China Expeditionary Army established the Reformed Government of the Republic of China in 1938, which had authority in the Yangtze River area. Wu Dexin (born 20 December 1936) is a Chinese female scientist specializing in semiconductor and integrated circuit. She is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Biography Wu was born in Laoting County, Hebei, on 20 December 1936. After graduating from the Department of Radio Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University in 1961, she was despatched to the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She joined the Chinese Communist Party in January 1979. In 1986, she was transferred to CAS's Microelectronics Center (now Institute of Microelectronics) and appointed deputy director.
