Wané Roonseraw
Edith Turner (ca. 1754 – February or March 1838), sometimes known as Edy Turner or Edie Turner, or by her personal name Wané Roonseraw, was a leader – often styled "chief" or "queen" – among the Nottoway people of Virginia in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Life Turner lived in Southampton County, Virginia, and had been active in land transactions since 1794, although her name first appears on a petition to the Virginia General Assembly dating to 1792, marking her earliest appearance in the historical record. She married one William Green, who appears to have been a non-Indian, in 1819. WANE-TV (channel 15) is a television station in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States, affiliated with CBS and owned by Nexstar Media Group. The station's studios and transmitter are located on West State Boulevard in the Tower Heights section of the city. However, master control and some internal operations are based at the Indianapolis studios of CBS affiliate WTTV and Fox affiliate WXIN. ''Garlands'' is the debut album by the Scottish alternative rock band Cocteau Twins. It was released on 10July1982 by the record label 4AD. It peaked in the top 5 of the UK Independent Albums Chart, and received support from BBC Radio 1 radio host John Peel. Background ''Garlands'' is the only album the band recorded with original bassist Will Heggie. Prior to the album the band recorded a four-track session for John Peel in June 1982 including "Wax and Wane" and "Garlands". A second John Peel session in January 1983 was included as bonus tracks on the cassette and CD release of ''Garlands''.
