Walter Klingner
Walter Klingner (born 1961) is a German oboist and cor anglais player. Life Born in Gotha, Klingner studied oboe with Axel Schmidt at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt, Weimar. He now works there as a lecturer. Since 1986, he is Solo Englisch hornist at the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is also a guest performer at the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Bachorchester Stuttgart, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Bayreuth Festival orchestra. Numerous compositions have been premiered by him, among others by Gerd Domhardt. He recorded compositions by Felix Draeseke, Carlo Yvon and Elliott Carter with Frank Peter. Oboe
The oboe ( ) is a type of double reed woodwind instrument. Oboes are usually made of wood, but may also be made of synthetic materials, such as plastic, resin, or hybrid composites. The most common oboe plays in the treble or soprano range. A soprano oboe measures roughly long, with metal keys, a conical bore and a flared bell. Sound is produced by blowing into the reed at a sufficient air pressure, causing it to vibrate with the air column. The distinctive tone is versatile and has been described as "bright". Ensemble Sortisatio
Ensemble Sortisatio is a quartet (viola, oboe/cor anglais, bassoon and guitar) founded by violist Matthias Sannemüller in 1992 in Leipzig, Germany. Its members are mostly soloists at the MDR Symphony Orchestra. They have specialized in contemporary classical music. Formation The Ensemble Sortisatio was founded in 1992 by Matthias Sannemüller in the city of Leipzig. Sannemüller was a pupil from Dietmar Hallmann and member of the Gruppe Neue Musik Hanns Eisler. The name comes from the Sortisatio concept and refers to the casual combination of the instruments in the ensemble. The idea came from the composer Reiner Bredemeyer. Members of the quartet are Walter Klingner (oboe and cor anglais), Axel Andrae (bassoon), Matthias Sannemüller (viola) and Thomas Blumenthal (guitar). Thomas Buchholz
Thomas Walter Buchholz (born 27 August 1961) is a German composer and music educator. Life Buchholz was born in 1961 in Eisenach as the son of the oratorio singer and vocal pedagogue Kurt Wichmann and the concert pianist and music teacher Jutta Buchholz ''née'' Gensty. His father was editor of the vocal school of Pier Francesco Tosi. Buchholz went to school in Eisenach and from the age of six years he received lessons in singing, piano, organ and music theory at the ''Eisenacher Musikschule''. Afterwards he trained as a piano maker at the Pianofortefabrik in Leipzig. Afterwards he worked as piano tuner in Eisenach and as musical instrument restorer at the Michaelstein Abbey in Blankenburg. Claves Records is a Swiss classical record label, which was founded in 1968 by Marguerite Dütschler-Hüber (1931–2006) in Thun. History Marguerite Dütschler-Hüber founded Claves with business partner Ursula Pfaehler when her piano teacher Jörg Ewald Dähler was unable to find a company willing to record and issue an LP of Bach preludes. The label specialised in Swiss music and artists such as flutist Peter-Lukas Graf and Lieder recitals by performers including Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Teresa Berganza and Ernst Haefliger. Claves also launched the recording career of María Bayo. Claves Records SA was formally founded in 1968. In 2004, the label was acquired by the Clara Haskil foundation and then by Olivier Verrey who runs the company with other board members. Jean-Luc Darbellay (born 2 July 1946) is a Swiss composer, conductor, clarinetist and physician. He was chairman of the Swiss Society for New Music and board member of the International Society for Contemporary Music. Darbellay is a member of the composers group: Groupe Lacroix. He has published about 150 works. He was awarded with the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Life and work Darbellay was born in Bern. Like his father and brother, he first studied medicine at the University of Bern. Ernst Heinrich Krenek (, 23 August 1900 – 22 December 1991) was an Austrian, later American, composer of Czech origin. He explored atonality and other modern styles and wrote a number of books, including ''Music Here and Now'' (1939), a study of Johannes Ockeghem (1953), and ''Horizons Circled: Reflections on my Music'' (1974). Krenek wrote two pieces using the pseudonym Thornton Winsloe. Life Born Ernst Heinrich Křenek in Vienna (then in Austria-Hungary), he was the son of a Czech soldier in the Austro-Hungarian army. Creative Works Records is an independent Swiss record label. History The label ''Creative Works Records'' was founded in 1983 by Mike Wider in Root (canton of Lucerne).
