Walker George Films
Walker George Films, founded in 2005 by Stephen Walker and Sally George, is a production company producing films for British television, including the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Walker has directed around 14 films, and was voted in the top 10 directors in the UK in ''Broadcast'' magazine in 2007. George has directed or produced around 12 films, including ''The Human Face'' with John Cleese, which was nominated for two Emmy awards. Stephen Walker is a British author and filmmaker. He was educated at Oxford and Harvard universities. He has directed or produced around 30 films, and was twice voted in the top 10 directors in the UK in ''Broadcast'' magazine. His production company is Walker George Films. ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). Alex Stobbs
Alexander 'Alex' Brett Stobbs (born 30 January 1990), (Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England) is a British musician with cystic fibrosis who was the subject of the Channel 4 '' Cutting Edge'' documentary ''A Boy Called Alex'' in 2008 and its sequel, ''Alex: A Passion for Life'' in 2009, also broadcast on Channel 4. Early life After an early education as an academic and music scholar at Stoke Brunswick, Stobbs became a chorister at King's College, Cambridge. It was here where he recorded for EMI with King's an album including Bach's ''Magnificat'', which he would later conduct. His earliest inspirations were the works of Walter de la Mare and the British novelist Jo Rowling. Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a rare genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs, but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestine. Long-term issues include difficulty breathing and coughing up mucus as a result of frequent lung infections. Other signs and symptoms may include sinus infections, poor growth, fatty stool, clubbing of the fingers and toes, and infertility in most males. Different people may have different degrees of symptoms. Cystic fibrosis is inherited in an autosomal recessive manner. It is caused by the presence of mutations in both copies of the gene for the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein. Those with a single working copy are carriers and otherwise mostly healthy. CFTR is involved in the production of sweat, digestive fluids, and mucus. King's College, Cambridge
King's College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. Formally The King's College of Our Lady and Saint Nicholas in Cambridge, the college lies beside the River Cam and faces out onto King's Parade in the centre of the city.
