WakeOne (, stylised in all caps), is a South Korean entertainment company under CJ ENM's entertainment division. Current artists include Davichi, Roy Kim, Ha Hyun-sang, Jo Yu-ri, Zerobaseone, TO1 and Kep1er (co-managed with Swing Entertainment) as well as dance crew Mbitious. History The company was founded in 2014 by Son Dong-hoon under the name MMO Entertainment (MMO standing for ''Music Makes One'', the slogan of CJ ENM's flagship music channel Mnet). In September 2018, MMO and CJ ENM founded Off the Record Entertainment () to manage Iz*One (now disbanded) and Fromis 9. Pledis Entertainment was involved in the creative direction and music production of both while they were in Off the Record until Pledis CEO withdrew from being involved with IZ*ONE after April 2020 (Fromis 9 continued to be in the label until they fully transferred to Pledis in August 2021). Zerobaseone (; stylized in all caps; abbreviated as ZB1) is a South Korean boy band formed through Mnet's reality competition ''Boys Planet'' in 2023. They are managed by WakeOne. The group is composed of nine members: Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, Park Gun-wook and Han Yu-jin. They debuted on July 10, 2023, with the extended play '' Youth in the Shade'' and will be active for 2 years and 6 months. Name Zerobaseone represents the "journey of the nine trainees to be completed as one after their debut". Mnet (acronym of Music Network) is a South Korean pay television music channel owned by CJ E&M, a division of CJ ENM, part of CJ Group. The CJ E&M Center Studio located in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul is the broadcast and recording centre of many Mnet programs with a studio audience, namely the live weekly music show '' M Countdown''. Park made her debut with release digital single "Beautiful" featuring Zico on August 7, 2014. ''Idol School'' () was a 2017 reality girl group survival show on Mnet. The program aimed to form a 9-member girl group from a pool of 41 female participants, training them in singing, dancing and other "subjects" over an 11 week time period. While sharing similarities to another Mnet survival program, ''Produce 101'', the two shows differed in many ways including its number of participants, voting system, and number of winners that will form the final group. Another of the shows greatest differences was how they treated the eliminated contestants. In Idol School, participants where given the chance to continue studying in the 'normal class' for a chance to debut in a future group where they would continue studying in a different class off-campus (off location) under less public scrutiny.
