Waiting Room is an Australian band consisting of lead vocalist and actor Alan Fletcher, guitarist Chris Hawker, singer-songwriter Tommy Rando and drummer Jeff Consi. The band play at a public house called ''The Elephant and Wheelbarrow'' in Victoria, Australia. for ''Neighbours Night'' to meet fans. The band often tour the UK, where Fletcher is well-known because of his role in the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours''. They released their debut album ''In the Waiting Room'' in 2005. With Fletcher's link to ''Neighbours'', several of their songs have been about ''Neighbours'' characters including "Sleeping Alongside Susan"; a cover of Smokie's "Living Next Door to Alice". The song refers to his character's relationship with Izzy Hoyland Isabelle "Izzy" Hoyland is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera '' Neighbours'', played by Natalie Bassingthwaighte. Alan Fletcher (born 30 March 1957) is an Australian actor of stage, television and film and musician. Fletcher is best known for TV soap opera ''Neighbours'', as Karl Kennedy. His on-screen wife is played by Jackie Woodburne, who coincidentally had previously played his sister in TV procedural drama ''Cop Shop''. Having appeared in the series since 1994, Fletcher is the third longest serving actor in an Australian television serial, after ''Home and Away'' actors Ray Meagher and Lynne McGranger. Career Fletcher was born in Perth, Western Australia, and attended Wesley College in Perth. Smokie (originally spelt Smokey) are an English rock band from Bradford, Yorkshire. The band found success at home and abroad after teaming up with Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn. They have had a number of line-up changes and were still actively touring in 2018. Izzy Hoyland
Isabelle "Izzy" Hoyland is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Natalie Bassingthwaighte. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 1 September 2003. Izzy was introduced as Max Hoyland's ( Stephen Lovatt) younger sister. The character departed in 2006, following Bassingthwaighte's decision to focus on her music career. However, in March 2007, Bassingthwaighte made a brief return to film a few episodes set in London.
