Wait For Night
''Wait for Night'' is the fourth studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Rick Springfield, originally released by Chelsea Records in 1976. The album was reissued by RCA Records in 1982 (with an enclosed poster from his 1982 "Sweat For Success" tour and an alternate cover that added a handwritten note from Rick and colored paint strokes on the original cover's B&W photo), and that version managed to crack into the Billboard album charts. The album was reissued on CD in 2010 by Wounded Bird Records. Stylistically, the album represented a move away from Springfield's 1970s light rock sound to the trademark arena-ready power pop/pop rock sound that Springfield would later find success with throughout the 1980s. It received a mostly favorable review from Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic. Springfield played most instruments on the album other than drums, performed by Nigel Olsson. Wait For The Night
''Wait for the Night'' is an EP released in 1983 by the heavy metal band Virgin Steele promoting the album '' Guardians of the Flame''. This EP was released in Europe by Music for Nations with a different cover, a different track listing and the name ''A Cry in the Night''. It is the last release of the band with guitarist Jack Starr. A compilation of songs from the EP and from ''Guardians of the Flame'' was published in Canada by Maze Music with the title ''Burn the Sun'', in 1984. The three original songs plus the interview from the European version were included as bonus material in the '' Guardians of the Flame'' CD remaster in 2002. Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is a fusion genre with an emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude than rock music. Jimmie Haskell
Jimmie Haskell (born Sheridan Pearlman, November 7, 1926 – February 4, 2016) was an American composer and arranger for motion pictures and a wide variety of popular artists, including Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Steely Dan, Billy Joel, and the Everly Brothers. His career spanned over six decades. Biography Haskell was born in Brooklyn, New York. He entered the music business in the 1950s doing arrangements for Imperial Records. His first professional arrangement was a chart of "Nature Boy", sold to Lionel Hampton. James Edwin Haas was an American singer who performed vocals for many artists including Andy Williams, Neil Diamond, Jackson Browne, David Cassidy, Leif Garrett, Pink Floyd, and Barry Manilow. Leif Garrett, after Haas' death, explained that in multiple tracks in his earlier albums Haas actually replaced his vocals entirely. Dee Murray
Dee Murray (born David Murray Oates; 3 April 1946 – 15 January 1992) was an English bass guitarist. He was best known for his long-time collaboration with Elton John as a member of the Elton John Band. Biography Murray was born in Gillingham, Kent, England on 3 April 1946. Before joining Elton John as his touring sidemen, Murray and drummer Nigel Olsson were members of the Spencer Davis Group in 1969. A greatest hits album or best-of album is a type of compilation album that collects popular and commercially successful songs by a particular artist or band. While greatest hits albums are typically supported by the artist, they can also be created by record companies without express approval from the original artist as a means to generate sales. They are typically regarded as a good starting point for new fans of an artist, but are sometimes criticized by longtime fans as not inclusive enough or necessary at all. Nigel Olsson
Nigel Olsson (born 10 February 1949) is an English rock drummer and singer best known for his long-time affiliation with Elton John. A dynamic drummer and backing vocalist, Olsson helped establish the Elton John sound as a member of the Elton John Band alongside bassist Dee Murray. When not working with John, Olsson has taken up the role of a session musician. He has also composed, recorded, and produced albums for his own solo career. He is the author of many artist biographies and record reviews for AllMusic, as well as a freelance writer, occasionally contributing liner notes.
