Royal Wahingdoh FC (also known as Wahingdoh Sports Club) was an Indian professional football club based in Shillong, Meghalaya. Nicknamed "Royals", the club participated in I-League, then top flight of Indian football league system. Royal Wahingdoh holds the record for the highest number of consecutive Shillong Premier League titles, having won the finals in December 2010, 2011 and in 2012. They have also competed in I-League 2nd Division during the 2013–14 season. They won the league by defeating Bhawanipore in the last match of the league and qualified to play for the 2014–15 season of the I-League. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium locally known as Polo Ground is a football stadium in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. It is used mainly for football and has most notably hosted the home matches of Shillong Lajong FC in the I-League. The stadium has a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators. History The stadium is a two tier stadium with a roof over the main stand. An artificial turf named Astroturf is laid down in 2012. The stadium is generally hosted I-League matches. Before professional football was played in Shillong, the stadium was created for football and running use. Both sports were played at an amateur level. Aizawl (; Mizo: ) is the capital of the state of Mizoram in India. Aizawl was officially established on 25 February 1890. With a population of 293,416, it is the largest city in the state. Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is an Indian professional sports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in 1889, its football section is one of the oldest in India and Asia. The club is most notable for its victory over East Yorkshire Regiment in the 1911 IFA Shield final. The 2006 FIFA World Cup, also branded as Germany 2006, was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. The Federation Cup (also known as Hero Federation Cup for sponsorship reasons) was an annual knockout football competition in Indian football which started in 1977. From its inception, until I-League was started in 1997 (then called NFL), it was the most prestigious national level club football tournament in India. Until 2017, it was the most important club tournament after the I-League, to which it became a ''de facto'' League Cup. Winner of the Federation Cup was given direct entry in the AFC Cup.
