WYBB (98.1 FM "98 Rock") is a commercial radio station licensed to Folly Beach, South Carolina and serving the Charleston metropolitan area and the South Carolina Lowcountry. It broadcasts a mainstream rock radio format and is owned by L. M. Communications of South Carolina, Inc. The radio studios and offices are on Windermere Boulevard in Charleston west of the Ashley River. On weekday mornings, WYBB carries the syndicated ''Bubba The Love Sponge'' show from Florida. WCOO (105.5 FM) is a radio station that broadcasts an adult album alternative format. It is licensed to Kiawah Island, South Carolina, United States, and serves the Charleston area. The station is currently owned by Lynn Martin. Its studios are located in Charleston, west of downtown (west of the Ashley River), and the transmitter site is in Mount Pleasant. History Originally, this station was WWMC, licensed to Moncks Corner, South Carolina and broadcasting at 3,000 watts. In the mid-1990s, WNST "New Star" played hot adult contemporary music under the name "Star 105". In December 1998, WCOO switched from adult contemporary to rhythmic oldies, becoming "Cool 105.3". Cooper River (South Carolina)
The Cooper River is a mainly tidal river in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The cities of Mt. Pleasant, Charleston, North Charleston, Goose Creek, Moncks Corner, and Hanahan are located along the river. Short and wide, the river is joined first by the blackwater East Branch and then farther downstream at the tidal Wando River. Almost immediately thereafter, the Cooper River widens into its estuary and unites with the Ashley River to form the Charleston Harbor.
