WTA South Carolina
The WTA South Carolina is a defunct WTA Tour affiliated tennis tournament played from 1985 to 1987. It was held in two locations; once on Seabrook Island, in 1985, and the final two times at the Wild Dunes on the Isle of Palms. The competition was played on outdoor clay courts. WTA Tour
The WTA Tour is a worldwide top-tier tennis tour for women organized by the Women's Tennis Association. The second-tier tour is the WTA 125K series, and third-tier is the ITF Women's Circuit. The men's equivalent is the ATP Tour. Lori McNeil
Lori McNeil (born December 18, 1963) is an American tennis coach and former top 10 professional tennis player. McNeil was a singles semifinalist at the US Open in 1987 and Wimbledon in 1994, a women's doubles finalist at the Australian Open in 1987 with Zina Garrison and French Open mixed-doubles winner in 1988 with Jorge Lozano. Personal McNeil was born the youngest of four siblings to mother Dorothy and father Charlie McNeil, who played professional football with the San Diego Chargers during the 1960s. Moving from San Diego to Houston, McNeil developed her tennis skills at MacGregor Park playground, a public facility in the Third Ward district. Mercedes María Paz (; born 27 June 1966) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. She won three singles titles on the WTA Tour and reached a career-high ranking of world No. 28 in April 1991. Her best Grand Slam result was the fourth round at the 1986 French Open and the 1990 French Open. Paz unexpectedly defeated defending champion Arantxa Sánchez Vicario in the second round of the 1990 French Open. Marcela Skuherská
Marcela Skuherská-Davidová (born 14 February 1961) is a former professional tennis player who represented Czechoslovakia. Biography Skuherská, who was born in Přerov, played on the professional circuit in the 1980s. She was a member of the Czechoslovak Fed Cup team in 1983 and 1984, which won the competition both years. All six of her Fed Cup appearances came partnering Iva Budařová in doubles, including the final against West Germany in 1983. In 1984 the pair played in both the quarter-final and semi-final, but stood aside for Hana Mandlíková and Helena Suková in the final. Laura Arraya (born 12 January 1964) is a retired Peruvian tennis player. She was also known by her married name Laura Gildemeister. Sabrina Goleš (born 3 June 1965) is a former Croatian tennis player who competed for SFR Yugoslavia. Biography Sabrina Goleš was ranked no. 3 among juniors in the world in 1983 (in the juniors, she won the Italian Open and Rolex Port Washington, reached the semifinals at Roland Garros and the Orange Bowl, and the quarterfinals at the US Open).
