Mercedes Paz
Mercedes María Paz (; born 27 June 1966) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. She won three singles titles on the WTA Tour and reached a career-high ranking of world No. 28 in April 1991. Her best Grand Slam result was the fourth round at the 1986 French Open and the 1990 French Open. Paz unexpectedly defeated defending champion Arantxa Sánchez Vicario in the second round of the 1990 French Open. Later that year, at the Virginia Slims of Worcester, Paz also defeated Sánchez Vicario in the round of 16. Five years before, in the semifinals of the 1985 Brazil Open, she beat top-seeded Gabriela Sabatini en route to beating Peruvian Laura Arraya for the title. In so doing, Paz became the first Argentinian woman to capture a major WTA event. San Miguel de Tucumán (; usually called simply Tucumán) is the capital and largest city of Tucumán Province, located in northern Argentina from Buenos Aires. Ann Grossman-Wunderlich (born October 13, 1970) is an American former professional tennis player. Grossman was born in the United States. The WTA Argentine Open is a WTA-affiliated tennis tournament initially played from 1929 to 1987 and restarted in 2021. It is held at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina and played on outdoor clay courts. The tournament made a return to the WTA 125 tournaments calendar in 2021. Lori McNeil (born December 18, 1963) is an American tennis coach and former top 10 professional tennis player. McNeil was a singles semifinalist at the US Open in 1987 and Wimbledon in 1994, a women's doubles finalist at the Australian Open in 1987 with Zina Garrison and French Open mixed-doubles winner in 1988 with Jorge Lozano. Andrea Holíková (born 15 January 1968) is a former Czechoslovak tennis player. She comes from the family of successful hockey players – she is the daughter Jaroslav Holík, the elder sister of Bobby Holík, and the niece of Jiří Holík. Holíková is married to former hockey player František "Frank" Musil. Holíková was a very successful junior player. In 1985, she won the Wimbledon Championships and reached the final of the US Open. In doubles, Holíková and Radka Zrubáková were the finalists of the French Open, but collected the US Open title. Holíková's professional career was by far less successful.
