WRUM
WRUM (100.3 FM) is a commercial radio station in Orlando, Florida, known as "Rumba 100.3." It airs a Spanish-language radio format featuring Latin pop, Reggaeton and Tropical music, and is owned by iHeartMedia. The studios and offices are on Maitland Center Parkway in Maitland. WRUM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts. The transmitter is in Bithlo, off Fort Christmas Road (Route 420). WRUM broadcasts using the HD radio hybrid format. The HD2 subchannel carries a bilingual CHR format, known as "Mega 97.1." The subchannel feeds an FM translator at 97.1 MHz. History The station signed on in 1950 as WKIS-FM, originally simulcasting WKIS (now WYGM). The two stations were owned by Central Florida Broadcasting and were network affiliates of NBC. WRSO (810 AM) is a radio station licensed to Orlo Vista, Florida, serving the Orlando area. The station is owned by Star Over Orlando and operated by iHeartMedia under a local marketing agreement. The station broadcasts Spanish-language news and talk. WRSO's programming is also heard on translator station W250CE (97.9 FM) in Kissimmee. History WEUS The station signed on in January 2006 as WEUS with an oldies format, filling a void created when Clear Channel's WEBG flipped from oldies to a Spanish-language format over a year earlier. WEUS was running Scott Shannon's "True Oldies Channel" format via satellite through automation. WEUS was also the flagship station for Mike Harvey's syndicated ''Supergold'' program, which is based in Orlando. WXXL (106.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Tavares, Florida, and serving the Greater Orlando - Central Florida radio market. The station airs a Top 40/CHR radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia. The studios and offices on Maitland Center Drive in Maitland. WXXL has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts. The transmitter is on Story Road at Veterans Memorial Park in Winter Garden. History WXXL first began broadcasting in 1969 under the call sign WLBE-FM, as an MOR-format radio station. It was the sister station of WLBE (790 AM), also licensed to Leesburg. In 1977, the station was known as ''Y-106'' broadcasting an adult contemporary format.
