WPFF FM 90.5 is an American radio station broadcasting a contemporary Christian format. Licensed to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, United States, the station serves the Green Bay area. The station is owned by Educational Media Foundation and features the standard K-Love schedule. History WPFF was founded by Mark Schwarzbauer and operated through Family Educational Broadcasting with a broadcast largely provided by CCM. This format remained in place until just before his retirement in 2008. WPFF was sold to Bethesda Christian Broadcasting in December 2007. On October 23, 2013, it was announced that WPFF, WNLI and their associated translators would be sold to Educational Media Foundation, owners of the K-Love and Air1 Christian music networks. In mid-January 2014, the station announced that, with the sale to EMF closing, it would switch to K-Love, with sister station WNLI carrying Air1. WPVM FM 88.5 is a radio station broadcasting a Christian radio format. Licensed to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, United States, the station serves the Green Bay area. The station is owned by WRVM, Inc. and operates as a simulcast of WRVM 102.7 FM. History The station was assigned the call letters WAZM on April 20, 1998, but was never on the air with those calls. On October 9, 1998, the station changed its broadcast callsign to WRGX. WRGX signed on the air with a format of Christian alternative rock as a complement to sister station WPFF, which features Christian adult contemporary music. As of September 2001, the station was one of 46 radio stations whose plays were recorded by Radio & Records to compile the Christian Rock chart. WPCK (104.9 FM) is a radio station licensed to Denmark, Wisconsin and serving Green Bay. The station is owned and operated by Educational Media Foundation. WPCK's transmitter is located off Finger Road in Montpelier. History The station was previously known in the 1970s and 1980s as Top 40 station WKAU-FM (licensed to Kaukauna), but became oldies-formatted WKFX by 1990. In an eleven–station channel swap, including moving Sheboygan's 97.7 frequency to Lomira, the frequency landed east of Green Bay. In 1997, an ownership change saw the station become WPCK, simulcasting its Oshkosh sister station WPKR ("Packer Country", never licensed or sanctioned by the NFL team). WLVE (105.3 FM) is a radio station in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. The station is owned by EMF Broadcasting and began airing the K-Love contemporary Christian (CCM) format on February 15, 2008. WLVE's Milwaukee offices and studios are located near the Wisconsin State Fair Park. History WFZH went on the air November 22, 2001 with a temporary all-Christmas music format. This format continued until just after Christmas, when they changed to a contemporary Christian format, 105.3, The Fish. Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin
Sturgeon Bay is a city in and the county seat of Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,646 at the 2020 Census. The city is well-known regionally for being the largest city of the Door Peninsula, after which the county is named. History The area was originally inhabited by the Ho-Chunk and Menominee. The town is known in the Menominee language as ''Namāēw-Wīhkit'', or "bay of the sturgeon". The Menominee ceded this territory to the United States in the 1831 Treaty of Washington. After that, the area was available for white settlement. The community was first recorded as Graham in 1855 but, in 1857, the state legislature organized it as the town of Ottumba.
